Lots of disappointments! High Fees, No real training, No actual coaches, Unfortunately, nothing good to say. High fees, basic services, no real coaches, kids were competing with some of the best clubs getting clobbered, parent volunteers, training was same drills week after week. Lots of time wasting, showed on the field, compared to other clubs. Jamie and coaches tell you what you want to hear, then come up with excuses for everything. Too much time wasted at practice, focus and effort not on the kids and their ability to gain good skills, rather on unnecessary "politics", then actual football training for the kids. More like they are there for the paycheck at the beginning of the season than the growth and development of the kids as they state. And unlike what they write back, they are Not open to feedback and criticism either, it just falls on deaf ears.

I usually don't leave reviews online, but this one had to be done. I am giving one star because I am forced by google reviews to do so, but considered it 0/5
I am incredibly frustrated with the experience my son and I had with the Burlington Soccer Club tryout sessions 2025. I registered him for a package of five sessions, hoping to see a fair and organized process where all players were given an equal opportunity to show their skills. Unfortunately, what we got was far from that.
From the very first session, it was obvious that the coaches were not truly observing or evaluating every child on the field. Most of the time, they stood on the sidelines chatting with each other or focusing only on a handful of players they already seemed to know by name. My son and many of the other kids were left to run drills or scrimmage with little to no attention from anyone in charge.
To make matters worse, the players were constantly split into “strong” and “weak” groups. The stronger players received almost all of the feedback, encouragement, and direction, while the rest were treated as if they were just there to fill space. A tryout should be about assessing talent, not about refining the skills of kids who are already part of the club. The entire approach felt careless and unprofessional.
For the fees they charge for these sessions, the bare minimum should be a structured and attentive environment where every child is given a genuine chance to participate and be evaluated. Instead, we were met with poor organization, a lack of engagement from the staff, and a system that seemed designed to favor kids already on their radar.
Overall, this was a deeply disappointing experience. Burlington Soccer Club needs to take a hard look at how they run their tryouts, because right now they are doing a terrible job delivering the value and fairness they promise. I cannot in good conscience recommend their tryout program to anyone looking for an encouraging and equitable soccer environment for their child.
Even if my son is selected I am not gonna let him be part of the club, we come from a soccer family, we can judge a bad engagement when we see it, we did so many other tryouts this season, and BSC showed the least engaging experience by far, other clubs were extremel;y helpful and their feedback and engagement was remarkable, I wish I could say the same for BSC.

While the girls were fun and active there were more disappointments than ever. Our coach mostly showed up, but didn’t inform anyone if she wasn’t going to be there. There were no actual skills and drills taught which made the game play frustrating for the kids as they had no idea what to do. For the amount that families pay I would hope that they would come out of the season with at least a base knowledge of how to play soccer. Most of the time there was only 4-5 players who showed up so the girls were exhausted by the end.

I honestly don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews about the administration at Burlington Soccer Club. From my experience, the administration has been nothing but smooth, professional, and friendly. I dealt directly with them when enrolling my kids in the summer camp and the Burli Blast event, and everything was handled with care. They even corrected a payment error quickly and without any hassle. I believe his name is John — he was extremely helpful and a great representative of the club.
Every child’s experience in soccer is different, so of course reviews will be subjective. At first, I registered my son in the Bayhawk Soccer program at Burlington Soccer Club. It turned out to be more recreational than competitive — the focus was on fun, and many of the trainers were quite young and not fully grounded in the fundamentals of the game. Because of that, we decided not to continue and looked elsewhere for a more intensive environment. Later, however, I enrolled him in the High Performance Summer Camp at BSC, and the experience was completely different. The training was structured, challenging, and he absolutely loved it. That’s why, despite our earlier hesitation, I confidently give Burlington Soccer Club a full five stars.

I would give it a 1/5. If you really want your kid to learn how to play and love soccer this is NOT the place for you.
The recreational program is decent and the kids have fun. If your looking to sign your child up for competitive, don't. Go to the Force, Oakville Jaguars or even Toca if you are truly looking for your kids to learn. They claim the focus on player growth but that is a lie.
Firstly, they simply don't have enough coaching staff to properly train the kids. Most of the younger coaches have left to go to other clubs and your kid will be learning from the older coaches (mostly parent coaches) who haven't played soccer in 20+years or never really played professionally. They end up paying the get the parent certified... huge red flag! Being certified doesn't mean you know the game or even know how to teach and support kids.
Secondly, they dont have enough facilities in the winter. Your kids will be training in a school gymnasium 1 or 2 days a week.
Finally some really shady activity at the club- dont be fooled by the summer High Performance Camp. Most of them were run by the owner of Toca (an unsanctioned club out of Mississauga). The Toca team also has a team that plays sanctioned under Burlington Soccer club as well.

I never write reviews but If your considering signing up your child for soccer with this league take note that dealing with this administration and head office (specifically Angela and Ryan) is frustrating and a complete waste of time.
Office hours are hardly available , phone calls are unanswered . emails if returned, take a number of days, return policies are essentially non existent once you pay, and friend request are “NOT HONOURED”. Once they have your money, you get what you get, period!
What was once a feel good league, has turned into a “made for profit” organization due in part to recent management changes in the last couple of years (yes I’m referring to you two mentioned above).
If you’re considering signing your child up, take a minute to read the negative reviews, they are true, buyer beware. 3 out of 5 stars is hardly something to boost about when dealing with children, do better folks.
P.S. Should they attempt to respond with some sort of compassionate messaging like they have with all other negative reviews, take note, it is insincere and simply done for optics and self preservation.
My concerns were raised to them in person, with a couple of possible solutions that could have easily resolved the situation , however they elected to be indifferent, tyrannical and uncompromising with no care or concern for child experience. Simply unacceptable and unfortunate

My child enjoys the soccer class overall and we appreciate the opportunity for him to participate and stay active. However, I’ve noticed that the class, scheduled from 5:00 to 6:00, usually starts around 5:05 and ends by 5:50. It would be great if the full hour could be used as planned, so the kids can get the most out of their time on the field. Thank you for your efforts and dedication to the kids!

Going back to the 70's I've had an association with soccer in Burlington, in all it's permutations. It simply is the best sport to get involved with and the BSC is the best club around. The attention to every player and the passion shown from the coaches is second to none. It is excellent, good fun! The Embracing Abilities & Lil Burli programs in a particular are awesome, BSC - you rock!
