Le climatiseur était défectueux, au deuxième et dernier étage, un four quand je suis arrivée et ce matin au réveil. Ce que je déplore c'est qu' ils étaient au courant du problème et qu'ils m'ont loué la chambre sans m'en informer.

Les draps et serviettes étaient propres, le matelas confortable mais la chambre, les corridors et surtout la réception ne sentent vraiment pas bon.

I would have rated 3.5 stars because of getting a great rate, great coffee, great parking, and a level of shabbiness relative to price-the room was less that $100 and had continental breakfast and unlimited coffee. Service was fine except for the unexplained charges... an extra charge appeared on my card statement from Capri after the room charge, and I was unable to have it resolved until I contacted my credit card company. The first day that spoke to the desk at Capri resulted in no response in 24 hours. Second day, I spoke to the manager, and he said he would respond or resolve within hours. I also immediately emailed the hotel as per his instructions. No response in 24 hours. I then reported/disputed the charge with my credit card company and it was promptly reversed. I still haven't heard from Capri for an explanation. I would recommend always getting a printed receipt on checkout and if unexplained charges later appear on your card statement, just report them to your credit card company. And since I'm on a rant, I should mention that the "courtyard parking" entrance was so grubby I actually mentioned to the desk on checking out that they should just sweep it up for appearances sake. I wasn't going to report that online, I told them... well, I wouldn't have...if they had responded to the second phone call.

We arrived there as a group and were greeted with, “Who are you? We don’t have room for you all!”. Although we all had reservations. Trying to get help from the front desk agent and manager was non existent as they just kept telling us to wait a minute. I inquired about how many rooms hey had left and was told, we don’t know. This continued for almost an hour and it was then that other gusts came down to complain that their rooms were not cleaned, beds were dirty, the toilets were “full” and were not cleaned or flushed. There were blood stains on the floors and more stains that could not be identified. Then we discovered that there was no running water to half the hotel. It was at this time several of us walked away and went to another hotel as there was no support or answers from the management. I would recommend to all to stay away.

Absolutely Do Not Recommend – Misleading Photos and Unacceptable Conditions

We had a deeply unsettling experience at the Capri Motor Inn in Smithers and want to share this review to save fellow travelers the trouble.

When we pulled up, we were immediately concerned—multiple windows were broken, and the parking lot was completely empty, which stood out considering other hotels in town were mostly booked. There was no one at the front desk, and several guests were already waiting. After calling the hotel, someone finally arrived to check us in.

Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. The hallway to our room had water leaks on the floor, what appeared to be bloodstains, and scattered furniture and clothing. One room along the hall was wide open and completely packed floor to ceiling with garbage, debris, old mattresses, and random items—it looked more like a dumping ground than a hotel.

When we entered our room, it became immediately clear it hadn’t been cleaned since the last guests checked out. The beds were messy, lights were still on, and the entire space felt unsanitary and neglected.

We returned to reception to explain the situation. They offered us a different room, and we asked to see it first. As we walked down the same hallway again, moths flew out of the hoarder-like garbage room, and the entire area gave off an undeniable sense of unease. At that point, we asked for a refund and left.

The pictures online—especially on Expedia—are incredibly misleading. This hotel is not just outdated; it’s in a state of visible disrepair and feels completely unsafe and unhygienic.

Thankfully, we found a cozy and clean Airbnb in Telkwa, just a short drive from Smithers, and had a great stay there instead. There are better options nearby—don’t let availability trick you into settling for this place. Your peace of mind and safety are worth the extra 10-minute drive.

I rarely give such a low score but this place is truly not ready for customers. The front staff doesn’t communicate with each other so a room I was promised when I made the reservation wasn’t given to me, as it wasn’t “pet friendly”, although I had been given that room a week earlier when I stayed. |The hallway was a mess! I appreciate that they’re renovating but there was drywall, plaster and other junk strewn all over the long hallway I had to go down to access the room. |Thd room itself was sad. The bedspreads are faded, the furniture is worn and the bathroom floor was filthy. The tub was old and worn. When I checked in, the toilet had been used and there were no coffee pods. My husband asked for more coffee and was given the wrong type of pods. The receptionist said I should have called when I saw the toilet had been used. But, honestly, after a looooong day of driving, the last thing I wanted after unpacking was to repackage and move to another room. |With our dogs we paid $185 for the worst room of the three hotels we stayed in from Vancouver to the Yukon. |The staff is nice enough. Hopefully the hotel will improve after renovations.

Location is right off the highway, water pressure was good, and the gentalman at the front desk was friendly at check in.

Upon going to my room they have renovations going on, but dust in the hallways, couches, panel covers littered throughout. As well just junk and boxes in rooms they aren't using with doors wide open for anyone to see.

Im my room I was in, there are footprints on the walls, blue painters tape holding all the seams together a random 1x4 in my room, exposed wires and plug faces not even on. No night table beside the bed, dated sheets and pillow. Stains on the carpet going to rooms, very stale air in the rooms as well.

If you need a room it works but I would look elseware.

Horrible Experience. To get to our room we had to walk down a hallway that was a construction site, people cutting things with saws as we walked by without stopping etc.

When we opened our room door there was no night stands and wires hanging out of the wall, foot prints and tape on the wall holding things into place, it was dark and dirty..

We immediately went back to the front desk and asked for a refund, the lady was then rude and bitchy to us and almost didn’t give us a refund.. she then said she put the damage deposit back onto my card but never did..
