Poor communication via their website or even by phone. They'll start digging up on your property without letting you know, leaving as a surprise. They apparently use Facebook for these important notifications, like how an amateur hobby club shares updates, rather than an official notification to your door or even mail. In one way, it's a small town, but apparently that's all it'll be for now, not a city. Best communicator on their team has been their by-law officer being super helpful and responsive with other issues.

Edit: We spoke with the person handling complains and they seemed surprise we weren't notified that our front-lawn would be dug up. Yet again today (a few weeks since the first issue), they've returned without warning to do more work. They should really check out how proper cities handle notification of work to their citizens (eg. Hamilton, Toronto, and even Saskatoon). Also for minorities, beware that cops here have a bias, go figure.

The mayor is pushing through legislation to change their animal shelter to a KILL shelter. You have 72 hours to find your pet before they are put to sleep, better hope you aren't out of town or in the hospital. Must just be a coincidence that his son is getting the contract...
