I use the gym facility here. If you like to train in a quiet & less rowdy space where you don't have to wait to use equipment, you'll enjoy it here. There is usually one desk/instructor persons to guide if needed. The complex houses other sports activities like swimming, football, etc. Gym access is free for Trent students from September-April, but registration is needed at the desk.

I mainly use the fitness centre and it’s a smaller fitness gym but has all the essential equipment and machines you need for a good workout for both upper and lower body. Great, ample fitness centre especially for beginners who are starting to work out in a gym.

The civic pool is one of the best in the area for public swim. They keep it nice and warm all year round. The pool deck is clean, and there are skilled lifeguards on duty.

I really like this pool, however, I use it for lane swims and it gets really crowded. There is a simple solution to this though. During lane swimming, there are 4 lanes open. 1 larger one for slow lane swimming, 2 smaller ones for fast lane swimming, and 1 larger one for medium speed lane swimming. The problem is, the people in the slow speed lane are all just standing in the water socializing which forces the people who are actually there to do lane swimming and be active to move to the medium lane. This then slows down people who go at a medium speed moving them to the fast lane which then slows down those who swim fast. It gets really congested and frustrating. The whole thing is set up for people to swim laps in a circle rotation, but how can anyone do that when people are just standing around socializing? Someone needs to ask those who just stand around and socialize to go during public swim hours as the lane swimming hours should be for those who want to actually swim and be active.

Lots of open space and so many activities to do! It’s also free to cost the playground and enjoy with the kids!!! Really recommend! ?

I have a serious concern with what is currently happening at the civic pool. Currently the woman’s change room is closed and they are asking teenage girls to go into the family room to change. This would be an ok practice but then they are allowing adult males into the same room. This person was in the male change room but then moved into the family room with his two teenagers. This should not be allowed in any terms…even if he had smaller children then he should not be in that room.

Unfortunately parking is a big problem; seems like the soccer field was created covering a huge number of parking spaces. We've been circling for 20 minutes, altogether with a number of other cars, before we were able to park, and were late for our granddaughter's synchronized swimming show 🙁
