If you're into the mystical and enjoy a good cup of coffee, the Deadly Grounds is a must-visit! This place has a spooky vibe that's perfect for anyone who loves a bit of the supernatural. The decor is dark and enchanting, with dim lighting masks and mugs featuring all your favourite horror characters..But the real magic happens on Fridays! They offer palmistry and tarot readings that are both fun and insightful. The readers are incredibly knowledgeable and have a way of making you feel comfortable, even if you're a bit skeptical. The coffee is excellent too they have so many different flavours – rich, flavorful, and just what you need to sit back and soak in the spooky atmosphere. They also have a great selection of pastries and snacks to go along with your drink. The staff is friendly and always up for a chat about the supernatural or the latest horror movie.The big screen is just perfect to watch the hockey or soccer games.
Highly recommend visiting on a Friday for the full experience. It's the perfect spot for anyone looking to add a little magic to their coffee routin

One of my absolute favourite places to be! A gem of the Durham region. The cafe itself has such a fun horror-themed atmosphere, with lots of cool products from local artists and small businesses to support! Everyone who works here is super sweet and friendly, and give great recommendations for what you might like. They have milk alternatives and allow for lots of customization in your drinks. Their coffee and muffins are delicious! There’s something for every horror fan. While it’s a little scary, still kid friendly. There are tables with an N64 and sega genesis. Can’t recommend enough!

What a fabulous space and concept for a cafe. Was invited here by a friend who also gifted me some of their signature roasts. Really it’s just such a fun space, it’s spooky and weird but in an authentic and interesting way. Tried some of their coffee and other items and all of it was nice. It was a cool outside the spot idea for a meet up and I loved it.

If you’re a horror fan, this is absolutely the place to be. I love the shop especially. They have really cool things that are hard to find elsewhere, as well as custom made items from local artists.
Plus great coffee! My favourite drink is the “Winchester”

Amazing cafe with an incredible atmosphere and ethos. I'm a huge fan of the Deadly Grounds brewed coffee, and I love their huge selection of beans to take home. They also offer a wide range of other beverages and treats, so they've definitely got something for everyone. In terms of atmosphere, their realization of their horror theme is impressive and great fun. One could spend hours taking in all the art, creations, and products (much of it for sale). A big part of the atmosphere is also the wonderful staff who are friendly, hardworking, and knowledgeable. As someone who lives in the area, I also appreciate that Deadly Grounds creates an inclusive, welcoming space, and that they serve as a community hub with a variety of fun, unique events. If you're a coffee fan, Deadly Grounds is must-visit. If you're a horror fan, it's must-visit. And if you're like me and love both, then Deadly Grounds will be your heaven, or perhaps more fittingly . . . your hell!?❤️

If you enjoy a good cup of coffee and you're into horror, supernatural, and mystical things then Deadly Grounds is a must-visit! This place has a horror vibe that is perfect for those who love the supernatural. The ambiance is dark and enchanting, with shirts, masks, candles, jewelry and mugs featuring all the greatest horror characters..on Fridays they have palmistry and tarot readings. The coffee is excellent with so many different flavours to choose from, including seasonal varieties.

Aside from the amazing commitment to horror nostalgia and spooky good times, each time I’ve visited the coffee has been outstanding. It’s difficult not to aggressively chug their drinks.
Furthermore, the staff are so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
I was a bit confused on the coffee grind I was looking for, and admitting not so very knowledgable and had made a mistake.
The patience in the folks working, and their commitment to helping me figure it out, make sure I was super happy, and not make me feel like a total ding dong for my lack of coffee knowledge really meant the world. I can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to coming by a lot more often and with friends! Thank you!
