This place probably has the best fried chicken sandwich I've eaten. The fried chicken is juicy but the batter is super crunchy. The sauce, the bun, and all the toppings are just perfect. It made me feel $15 for a sandwich is justified.

The burger is also very good.

The half and half side for $7 is a great option for those who want a bit of everything. More places should offer it.

I'd love to come back to Cumberland just to eat here

Best burger I’ve ever had. Come for the cute little town, stay for the burger. Eat two, or three. I wish I had. I’m now home on my couch, eating dry tortilla chips, feelin a little sad that I’m not eating one right now. Absolutely a 10/10 for everything: service, great patio, good beer, gooooooooood burger. Love you Cooks, can’t wait to come back!

During my extensive travels, I have sought out the ultimate comfort food: the hamburger. Among the countless contenders, Cook’s establishment stands out above the rest, offering a burger that is unparalleled in quality and taste. This no-frills eatery focuses on a limited menu, ensuring that every dish is crafted with exceptional skill and using only the finest ingredients.

The simplicity of their offerings is a testament to their dedication to perfection. The menu is straightforward, free from any fusion or bizarre interpretations of the classic burger. The burgers and fries are delivered promptly, maintaining their heat and freshness, which is a rare delight in the fast-paced world of dining. Hot hamburgers; imagine that!

While the experience is nearly flawless, there is one minor suggestion for improvement: the provision of more substantial napkins. Given the caliber of their burgers, a napkin that can withstand the juicy goodness would be a welcome addition.

In conclusion, if there is a better hamburger out there, I have yet to discover it. This restaurant has set a new standard for me.

An all-around great spot!
The vanilla milkshake was delicious and not too heavy, the fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the burger was fantastic! Their "secret sauce" was delicious, and the ratio of toppings was perfect. The service was efficient and friendly.
I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends!

This is easily the best smash burger place on the Island and probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had - it honestly doesn’t even need describing, just look at it.

The service was great as well, super friendly guy and laid back atmosphere. A MUST TRY.

Every 2ish weeks or so, I drive to Cooks from Campbell River to enjoy the delicious burgers. Sometimes I eat there, sometimes I bring food home - it is always good. The people working are very friendly and helpful, the beer selection is great, and the restaurant is very clean. I like their t-shirts and hats, which have fun designs. The sides are just as good as the burgers, which is great, because sides have become a lost art to many. The crispy chicken and grilled cheese sandwiches are also excellent. I have never ever had a meal from Cooks that was not as delicious as I was expecting; they are very consistent. I also appreciate that they seem to value work-life balance for their staff/owners by regularly taking 2-week breaks and by being open for a reasonable number of days per week. Their social media posts are ominous and inviting. Cooks is the best, no further questions.

I have some very specific and sensitive dietary restrictions, I’m used to not being able to order anything or getting a bland meal when I go out to eat.
The two guys working at the front and the kitchen staff were super diligent checking ingredients for me and super nice about it.
I had a delicious burger and fries. The patty really stood out, crispy and super flavourful.
Looking forward to coming back on our next climbing trip!
