We're from Halifax, where Donairs were invented in the 70s. Donair on the Run does a good job, but if they made a few tweaks, it could be so much better.

- a little more oregano
- a lot more cayenne pepper
- serve either fresh off the vertical rotisserie or take what's in the warmer and freshen it up on the griddle with a little oil to bring back the flavour (ours was a bit dry)
- reduce the Donair sauce down a bit so that it's more runny, this was more of a mayo consistency (typical outside of Halifax, but not in Halifax).

I'm around for 3 more weeks if you happen to make some of these changes and would like an update to the review. Otherwise, very very friendly staff and I can see why so many people love it.

You’re going to LOVE it here. Really good food. Super fresh, flavourful. Extensive menu including vegetarian. Comfortable shop inside with lots of room and even a football game table. Outside patio with shade. Friendly owner with nice, knowledgeable staff.

I went for lunch and got some takeaway to have later for dinner. Extensive menu with lots of choices – the owner and staff were both really good at making me feel comfortable even though I didn’t know what to get. They were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and made good recommendations.

The falafel was excellent – so flavourful and custom wrapped with my preferred veggies and sauce. The falafel balls were just right, not too dry and a good texture. I was told it was a family recipe and it tastes like a family favourite. Really good pita bread. Definitely get a bag to take home. Variety of sauces also really tasty as are toppings like pickled turnips, pickled red cabbage and most any vegetable you’d want.

Outstanding hummus. Definitely get an order to take home with your pita bread. It could be my new favourite, especially with the pickled turnip garnish. Smooth, creamy and mild but very tasty. I enjoyed it with pickled turnip, diced cucumber and tomatoes on top and drizzled with olive oil. SO GOOD. I tried the baklava. What? Had to have dessert, it’s for work ... highly recommend.

Relaxing atmosphere, great food and nice people, I’m looking forward to going back. You will enjoy the quality, variety, freshness and generous portions.

For almost 20 years my wife and I have came here, Camille has always made the best donairs I've had, hands down anywhere. My only complaint could be that he's now set the bar so high no other donairs stack up leaving me empty inside when out from town. My boys My wife and I thank you Camille and team for doing a great job ?

Recommended by locals and I can understand why. We enjoyed donair wraps with really tasty toppings like pickled turnips and pickled red cabbage. Highly recommend!!!

What can I say? I googled family friendly, affordable dining and this popped up as the number one choice near me. I’m so glad that I found this spot. I’m from the USA and knew that I needed to try Donair while in Canada. I wasn’t disappointed. I had the original Donair wrap and fries that were spiced to perfection. The Tabbouleh was super fresh and refreshing on this super hot day! Did I mention that this place is super KID friendly? The staff was super friendly and even gave me recommendations for other Canadian delicacies while here. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
