I was a loyal/happy customer since 2018 until my last visit earlier this year. When I found Downward Dog on Facebook, they had several photos of groomed pomeranians and the original owner, Brandi had a Pomeranian herself, so I knew my girl’s double-coat was in good hands. I live in Calgary, but had no problem making the drive as the level of service WAS second to none. After Harlow’s regular groomer, Julia, left Downward Dog she was seen by different groomers each time and I noticed that her grooms were becoming more and more inconsistent, even though I was still asking for the exact same thing - just a tidy and to leave her tail natural. I didn’t realize that the shop was under new ownership until the last time I was in during water restrictions and was advised that they would be relocating to Crossfield. I also didn’t realize I was speaking to the owner, Nicole, as well as the person who had just groomed Harlow very poorly, until she gave me her business card telling me she would contact me to recommend other groomers if I didn’t wish to make the commute to the new location. I never heard from her and I’m thankful I didn’t, as I didn’t realize how bad her groom was until I got home. Photos are a progression of her most recent groom by the owner, Nicole, where her fur is all choppy, compared to when she was groomed by Julia 🙁 I have thankfully found a new groomer at Mollie’s Pet Market named Becca, who is fantastic!

We love bringing our pup here for grooming! He is always well taken care of and we couldn’t have asked for a more caring grooming team. We always appreciate the day before appointment confirmation, with our busy schedules, the communication is above and beyond. The customer service has always been top notch and we’ve had no complaints at all! I cannot recommend them enough for when they’re accepting new clients. Just look how happy our little guy is when he gets back!

Downward Dog Grooming has amazing staff. I always feel safe and comfortable leaving my dogs with them for their grooming. The quality of the grooming services are always amazing. I have an elderly dog that the staff makes sure to accommodate for so that he’s comfortable.

Okay so DDG is seriously the best in town! I don’t trust anyone else after seeing how happy my Malina is when she gets to come here for her grooming needs. My dog actually looks forward to it which is incredible. The workers here do such an amazing job, and you can also see the genuine love they have for these doggos! (Which I find is super important when choosing a groomer).

The staff at DDG look after my crew with the best care I could ever ask for! The service is fabulous and my dogs are groomed to perfection every time!! We have a show dog that is in a full coat and they help us before every show!

Edit..under new ownership. You can tell by the new lack of service and the smell. The place no longer smells clean.

Downward Dog Grooming is the best grooming place to go to. The staff truly care about the people and pets they see. They adapt to the pet's temperament and have loads of patience. They are so gentle with my fur baby. I would recommend Downward Dog for anyone with a pet. Nicole is a wonderful groomer and has so much passion for what she does. Always happy whenever I come here. 🙂
