My review is not because I failed. I understand that failure is part of learning. It’s because I felt the test was unfair.

I had a very negative experience at the Bancroft DriveTest center with a lady examiner. Her instructions were often unclear and delivered in an impatient tone. At one point, she told me to turn into a driveway, and when I asked a clarifying question because I wasn’t sure which one she meant, she suddenly yelled at me and said, “you guys rely a lot on YouTube videos.” As someone preparing for the test, I found this remark discouraging and unprofessional. Of course students prepare in advance, and examiners should encourage safe practice, not mock it.

Another issue was being asked to perform several lane changes in a very short stretch of road. While I was making sure to do proper shoulder checks and follow safety protocols, she rushed me by saying “fast, fast, fast, we have to do two more lane changes because the highway is single lane.” This resulted in me having to do around four lane changes within just a few seconds, which I felt was both unsafe and unnecessary. I have been driving for almost three years now and Safe driving requires careful checks, and I did not feel supported in maintaining that standard.

In another instance, while I was about to make a right turn, a pedestrian was halfway across the crosswalk. Instead of reinforcing the correct choice to wait, the examiner told me to “please take over.” This felt unsafe and went against the rules of the road.

Overall, I felt that her behavior was impatient, unclear, and disrespectful. I understand that students make mistakes during a driving test, and I accept responsibility for genuine errors. However, in this case, I felt she was more focused on failing me than on fairly assessing my skills. Driving tests should prioritize fairness, professionalism, and safety, but unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Could not recommend the Bancroft location more, Bron at the front desk really went the extra mile for me to correct some issues that came up during my last visit. Cleared everything up within a day. She really proved to be the brain and the Bron of the operation.
Christine started her shift early just to accomodate my test, and was lovely to chat with throughout the entire test.
These people do so much to make an otherwise stressful experience great. It shows in the smiles on their faces, and their sheer willingness to help however they can.

Went in for my B license. From start to finish Bron was very pleasant and professional. For my road test I had Rick and I couldn’t have asked for a better examiner. He knew I was very nervous and he was very patient with me and took the time to explain everything to me and repeated it whenever I needed him to. He was very “calming” to deal with! I give both Bron and Rick a 5 out of 5. ☺️

Personal service in an industry that isn't known for being personable. They are professional and effective in getting customers through the process of licensing efficiently, and serve Bancroft and area very well. Veronica, the examiner for my G drive test, was outstanding. Her professionalism and knowledge were evident throughout the entire process. She provided clear instructions, offered helpful tips, and made me feel at ease during the test. Her expertise and attention to detail ensured a fair and thorough evaluation.
Jane, the receptionist, was also excellent. She greeted me with a warm smile and assisted me with any questions or concerns I had before the test. Jane's friendly and helpful demeanor created a positive atmosphere, making the overall experience much more enjoyable.

I came to this DriveTest location yesterday to attempt my G2 test, and yay i got it! As soon as i walked in, I was greeted by a friendly face. Bron was so welcoming and kind. I was very nervous and she reassured me that it’s going to be okay! James was my examiner and he was beyond amazing. He was caring, calm and really helped ease my nerves. It honestly felt like i was driving around with a friend 🙂 James and Bron, I cannot thank you enough! I will definitely be returning for my G. I 1000% recommend this location 😊

The staff at DriveTest Bancroft are both kind and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the start. The inspectors excel at making individuals feel at ease, which goes a long way in calming nerves during the process. I passed my G2 today at Bancroft location after failing my first attempt last month in Madoc. My examiner Joanne made me feel comfortable and I was much more at ease this time around because she exuded knowledge and positive energy and I am so grateful for her and Bron at the front desk being so kind and helpful and providing me with a wonderful experience today.
