I was visiting the nail salon next door and parked in a 10-minute zone without realizing it. I understand that was my mistake for not noticing the sign, but instead of calmly pointing it out, the convenience store owner came out and yelled at us as if he owns the SHARED parking stalls in the plaza. It was unnecessary and nasty.

I’ve been a regular customer at this store since moving to Sylvan, but after this experience I’ll likely be taking my business elsewhere. I run a shop myself and deal with people parking in my stalls constantly, it’s a frustrating but inevitable situation, but I would never publicly berate someone for it. A polite reminder would have gone a long way. Respectful communication is important in a small community, and this interaction left a very negative impression.

We came early and parked to wait for Papa John’s to open. Out of nowhere, this old man comes at us with pure attitude, acting like we were plotting some kind of top-secret mission across the street. Sir… it’s PIZZA, not a bank heist. 🙄

If simply seeing customers in a parked car stresses him out, he seriously needs to stay home and rest because clearly, he can’t handle it anymore. And if I were the owner and actually cared about customer service, I’d think twice about having this old man around—because trust me, he’s doing more harm than good.

PS: See the photo for your reference 😂 Lucky for us, the Papa John’s staff were both super friendly and honestly made our day!

The man inside is probably the most rude old man I’ve ever encountered…came out of the store and yelled at me and my family for parking in his stall to go to another store in the plaza, the signs do say 10 minute parking and that’s all we intended to be parked there for. I understand that we shouldn’t have parked there now but coming out and screaming at someone over something so small is not okay! A kind can change a lot..

Owner was so rude I was outside the building and he came out and started screaming at me! I think it’s unacceptable for a grown man to march up to young girls late at night and start screaming and throwing him arms around for no reason! Doesn’t deserve business and should be shut down

Owner is very rude, even went as far as calling bylaw because we were parked to long in the parking lot. He also came over to the car when we were leaving from next door and yelled at us about being parked to long. Bylaw didn't do anything because we are obviously allowed to park. Hard to support local when the local owners are this rude to people.

Go up
