Go where the locals go! A highly recommended breakfast spot in East City Peterborough with a loyal following. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is a cool ptbo vibe. There is a beautiful interior with old style booth or bar seating. In the summer months, there is a cool sunny patio area. Trust me, you want bacon, homefries and eggs cooked to perfection? Stop by East City Coffee Shop!

Update: I had no idea that Alban served soup and it was delicious! A Sweet Potato Coconut Curry blend. My favourite!

Update: Brunchin on a long weekend! Two specials, sippin coffee on the patio and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere!

Update: Enjoyed a lovely breakfast special on the patio and it did not disappoint! Bacon, scrambled eggs, rye, potatoes and coffee!

I didn't really like the Reuben Sandwich, I just wanted to give it a try, but I know that the other menu items smell like they taste very good. Never had the Reuben before that's why. It's very small space here with many customers. Not really that comfortable but it shows you this place is popular. Great service as well.

1st visit to this dinner. It is an open kitchen dinner with a nostalgic feel complete with a old time cash register. Yes it is cash only. The breakfast special was tasty. I especially liked that they grilled the sausage and didn't deep fry it. The egg salad sandwich was very good and fresh.

We have eaten here many times over the years. Loved it when the Mom and Dad ran it, love it now. Husband loves the huge breakfast plate. I can't eat that much. Ordered a peameal,Lettuce,Tomato with Mayo on Rye. Best sandwich I ever had.

Amazing food and lovely service! Today I got the tuna melt to go and it was fantastic! My boyfriend goes quite often and somehow it usually lines up with when I am out of town but he loves everything on the menu. Looking forward to my next visit ? make sure you ask about the daily soup!

Fresh, fast, friendly. Good coffee, great hashbrowns. Recommend getting there early to beat the crowd. Been going there for years and the quality has only gone up over time.

I’ve been living in Peterborough for years and have heard nothing but good things about this shop. I have friends that come in from Lakefield just to have breakfast here. I finally decided to come out and see what the hype was all about. I honestly can’t even say much but WOW! The customer service is truly exceptional! It’s usually busy with the shop being open for prime breakfast time but you don’t necessarily feel it. The staff is so welcoming and take the initiative to make you feel like your apart of their family. The food is just amazing and the homefries are literally the best in town. This is my new breakfast spot. I’m so mad I didn’t come here earlier but I’m beyond happy to have a gem like this in town.
