Is it smoke free ? The guy over the phone said: yes. We booked without looking at the reviews, mistake. The room offered had cigarette smoke in it. So WE DID NOT STAY. The money, $115, they will not return, though I have severe allergy to nicotine.
For 20-40 dollar more get yourself a descent room that smells fresh. Maybe the walls will be thicker and a little newer. Best Western, prairie moon...that's what we ended up doing.
If you're a smoker, no problems, cheap enough.
If you don't, stay away from this place.

From the get go this experience was awful there. The front desk lady had 0 customer service skills, even tried being super friendly and was met with an inconvenienced attitude. The room was run down and not cleaned properly. My standards for motels aren’t very high but even this place was a dump. There was a drunk man right outside my room taking nonsense to me when I first walked to the door and it seemed like nobody cared. After checking out, I was sitting in my car and the front desk lady immediately came to my window and accused me of smoking marijuana in the room and that she is going to charge me a smoking fee. I politely explained that no I wasn’t smoking in the room and that you can check the cameras that I was always going outside to smoke and that the smell could be from possessing marijuana in the room and that all you have to do is open the windows for a little bit. She sighed and said now she can’t rent out the room for the night yet it was only 10 am and it takes 10 minutes to air out any odours. Anyways, terrible experience and I wont ever be going back.

The rooms were mid, pretty outdated and a bit stuffy inside, so had to aerate the room. A bit too pricey for the quality of the rooms however im still giving stars as The service was very great. The guy at the front was friendly and welcoming. The location is also great as it's pretty close to the beach.

One of the cleanest motel rooms we’ve ever stayed in. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The outside of the property has seen better days for sure. Overall, it’s great value for the amenities offered.

The staff were very kind and friendly, and the location is right on the beach, but we found the rooms to be not just dated, but actually kind of dirty. An observant person can tell the difference between a surface clean and a deep clean. The floor around the kitchen cupboards and fridge had long caked-on filth. Being told there is a charge for dishes not washed seemed very strange to us. We wouldn't stay here again unless these issues were rectified, and considering how long the dirt in the kitchenette had been accumulating, I don't see anything changing. Though you never know 🤷

I own a small business and had booked three rooms for my guys to stay in for one night while they worked in the area. As soon as the guys walked into the lobby they noticed there were people in the basement area that were impaired on what they assumed were drugs. Once they opened the door to their rooms they noticed a very bad smell and stains on the carpet. The rooms were absolutely disgusting and they turned around to go back and speakw with the front desk person. He refused to offer us a refund, costing us twice as much money to go and book a diiferent hotel. Highy recomment looking elsewhere if you are in the Slyvan Lake area.

We booked this hotel because it was dog friendly and it was very close to the beach (very short walking distance). The hotel itself is older and definitely could use some refurbishing - paint etc. It was surprisingly quiet in the rooms at night. The beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. With a small kitchenette etc it allowed for us to prepare some food and bring leftovers back from restaurants. Definitely not in the best shape but good location and being dog friendly, we'd go back.
