You read the reviews and think nowhere can be that good surely, well Flying Cloud really is, and if Viv and Neil decide to call it a day this year, they can retire happliy knowing that they really got it right. The location is ideal for just falling off the ferry, great views over the harbour and a good base for a few days around Nanaimo. However, it is Viv and Neil's attention to every detail that made our stay so great, they had even visited our home turf via google earth! Fantastic breakfasts, good local knowledge and great conversation. If it's not too late, visit, if it is too late, thanks and enjoy your well-earned retirement

I cannot say enough about my experience at the Flying Cloud. Viv, (with a Master's in Home Economics) is the best Hostess ever!..I almost felt as if I didn't deserve all of the doting she did over me and my Mom! The breakfast is served complete with doilies, homemade muffins, fresh fruit, homemade gourmet egg creations, and music to match what ever breakfast theme she has that morning. She takes such great pride in everything she does! After staying here I would never consider staying anywhere else in Nanaimo when I return there. Her home is spotless and so tastefully decorated, the views of the harbor from the house are breathtaking, and the company is divine! I so enjoyed chatting with Neil about his beloved hummingbirds that visit the feeders. Neil is intelligent, kind, and considerate. This couple gets 5 stars from me..if i could give them 10 I would! Vivien and Neil are the two frienliest and most hospitable hosts. We spent 4 nights here and were greeted on our first day with wine and cheese facing the most magnificent view of the Nanaimo Harbour. When you first enter this spectacular home, the view that you see is amazing, you will be mesmerized and it sends goose bumps.Four mornings we were treated to Vivien's delicious breakfasts, they are so filling you are ready to take on any outdoor activity for the day. The meal is tastefully created and set out on beautiful dishes and crisp linens with special touches like fresh cut flowers from the garden on the property. Everything is immaculate,you couldn't ask for a bettr place to stay. We stayed in the harbour room and it's a quiet suite on the bottom floor and it was so quiet and peaceful, you think you're the only ones here. The hosts are always on hand to give you helpful directions and ideas of places to visit to make your stay in Nanaimo memorable.

Wir waren im August 2013 auf einer Rundreise durch British Columbia für 2 Nächte im Flying Cloud. Wir bekamen nicht nur wunderschöne Zimmer, sondern ein ganzes Stockwerk mit eigenem Wohnzimmer samt Billardtisch sowie einer eigenen Terrasse mit Whirlpool und Sauna zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Gastgeber Vivian und Neil sind herzliche, gebildete und liebevolle Menschen, bei denen man sich wie zuhause fühlt. Das Frühstück war hervorragend, und als Zöliakiebetroffene geniesst man sogar selbst gebackene glutenfreie Muffins und andere Leckereien, auf die man sonst im Urlaub verzichten muss. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Vivian is an absolute delight! From the moment we walked into their beautiful home she was gracious warm and welcoming. It was like going to visit a distinct relative you've never met. We were the only guest for the night, so she took us on a tour and let us have a choice of room.||We then had a lovely wine and cheese on the deck, and was given information on the area. The breakfast the next day was 5 star! I should have got the recipe for those oatmeal muffins (which I might add Vivian packed for us with homemade jam for the ferry) Great palce to say!

Auch wir können all die positives Bewertungen nur bestätigen. Das Flying Cloud ist ein top B&B mit äusserst lieben, charmanten und aufmerksamen Gastgebern. Wir fühlten uns bei Vivian und Neil vom ersten Moment an wie bei guten Freunden. Die interessanten und auch lustigen Gespräche, sowie das herrliche Frühstück haben wir total genossen und wären gerne geblieben. Es stimmte einfach alles und wir können das Flying Cloud nur wärmstens empfehlen. Herzlichen Dank, liebe Vivian and Neil, take good care and have fun with "your babies"!

We were so sad we could only stay one night with Vivian and Neil and their two little kitty cats. The bedroom was huge, so was the bathroom. We felt very welcome from the start till we unfortunately had to hit the road again. Our breakfast, set on the terrasse with stunning view and humming birds all around us was so incredible delicious. Viv and Neil are such a sweet couple and we wish them all the best for the future. Highly recommended!

My husband, adult daughter and I stayed at the Flying Cloud B&B at the end of July and enjoyed our 3 night stay tremendously.|From the warm welcome on arrival to our final breakfast we were treated like special guests. The breakfasts were amazing, our rooms very comfortable and the views over Nanimo Harbour unforgettable. |Vivienne and Neil were wonderful hosts and we would like to think that if we return to Vancouver Island in the future the Fling Cloud will still be there!
