"Dad can we go to Funvilla?"
Funvilla is the indoor Play Centre / Playground that many children will utter to their Parent(s) either because of a birthday party invite or due to an eventual gateway play date invite that introduces them to the Funvilla fold. Nobody escapes.
My Daughter has attended Funvilla's Guelph facility on many occasions, some being birthday related and others recreational visits with a friend present. As such I'd heard many tales from her sharing mini adventures and exploits while on Funvilla's trampolines, slides, swings, ninja course and multiple wall-climbing areas to name but a few of the activities which doesn't even include the the arcade area and Fun Café if you need to grab something to eat. Yes there is Wifi.
Before I continue for any adult who has had experience entering a Play Centre should know you will need to sign a waiver covering liability issues (read it), you SHOULD read the rules of Funvilla upon entering the facility too and so should your children it will help from a safety and clarify the expectations for you as a parent and your child(ren) while at the facility. Also first time visiting adults should be ready to buy the Funvilla socks and naturally for your kids for which which are needed.
Funvilla now is in its 5th year active in Guelph and our late August 2025 visit was a hit for our Daughter so much so we actually extended our planned visit by an hour.
She was able to go around the activity areas and joined up with other children for adventure while her Mother and I took some much needed leisure in the seating/lounge area also serving as our meeting spot.
Staff was friendly and courteous and alert to answer questions, process transactions or just make recommendations.
You'll also surrounded by other seasoned agents of chaos otherwise known as Fellow Parents and Guardians running on will power, unaffected by the numerous laughs, screams of joy, kids banter and random cries. Warriors.
You can relax but keep your awareness as your little one burns off energy because while there are staff all zipping around it is still your responsibility and your child's to keep track of their safety and keep an eye out for any conflicts which for the most part your child and other children will handle it but it happens.
It seemed many parents and children have no issue leaving the odd personal item around and while the environment is safe enough and there is an aura of enough trust one should be cautious and you are responsible for your valuable items as numerous warning signs around the centre make it clear.
I was dreading what the washrooms may look like with so many children around but I was greeted by a clean and functional and this was the boys/Men. What a relief. I noticed many staff working diligently cleaning up and checking over play areas as well as front desk attending to families entering.
Due to the time of year I had realised that the Funvilla Summer Day Campers (a Summer Camp service run by Funvilla) would be present on and around the facility. They seemed to be in their own bubble as expected wearing camp uniform the camp instructors/staff are very focused on their group from my observations. Sometimes they would overwhelm a play area with their numbers but it seems like a true playground everyone instinctively moves around and spaces are rotated.
The Arcade provides a quick break from the energy burning physical activities just a few feet away. I personally found the pricing just right to get a few games in to not overstay in the area.
A stop at the snack cafe/food counter offered reasonably priced hot food combos and snacks. The eating area can get a little grubby, I imagine there's quite the activity in and out.
There's a nice area to charge your devices in the corner of the cafe if needed too so fret not. Our daughter enjoyed her snack while colouring while my Partner and I vibed on the fries.
Funvilla is an experience that I would hope is pleasant for your child(ren) enjoy the experience.
