I am happy to recommend this Dr for exotics. I scheduled him thinking we were going to have to put down our rabbit at the age of 13, but he took the time to examine him and offer suggestions. His logic was reasonable, and he listened to our concerns about quality vs. quantity. He weighed all that, and we tried one of his suggestions. Now our rabbit is thriving, 13 years old, and enjoying his senior years. He is very knowledgeable in exotics and admitted to still taking educational courses to expand that knowledge with new the research-- this is very reassuring!
During the apt, he was patient, calm, and extremely gentle with our old guy, and we really felt he genuinely cared very much. Thank you for your great continuing care of our old rabbit! Will continue to recommend him for rabbit owners!

Took my Boa Constrictor Hazel to Dr Foote because of a respitory infection; He was great and I was allowed to accompany my baby Haze in the exam room. I would highly recommend Dr Foote if you have a reptile. I know my snake would not have made it if not for him.

I highly recommend Dr. Foot to care for your Bearded Dragon. I had visited a different exotic's vet, and was dismissed and charged for an examination that did not take place. This was entirely not my experience with Dr. Foot. Our beardie was feeling unwell, and Dr. Foot thoroughly examined him, was caring and gentle, and most of all would listen to our concerns. Dr. Foot took the time to talk through the symptoms that were being observed, asked questions, and provided possible causes and options for treatment. Dr. Foot took the time to talk with me over the phone as our beardie's condition changed, and would always call me back as soon as he could, putting our minds at ease while caring for our special pet family member. Dr. Foot is extremely knowledgeable, takes the time required to properly assess your pet's health, and his overall caring about our lizard's health was apparent in every interaction.

Doctor Foot is my new hero! We had an urgent situation with one of our guinea pigs, and my former vet has twice refused to take us for urgent care now. This led us to finding Dr Foot and Glencoe Animal Hospital. He squeezed us in, did a fantastic job, and even gave the little boogers a treat to go home with. He is absolutely worth the 40 minute drive for us and we already love him!

I have Dr Foot care for our bearded dragons for ten years now and he is excellent. Up until being referred to him by a London pet store it was a struggle to get care for the animals. Most vets did not know much about them. It was Dr Foot that identified they had parasites and was able to treat them. It is well worth the drive to Glencoe if you have reptile pets.

0.5 stars - only because she answered me before a surgery.

*update: my guinea pig is now 6 and I have been getting her care in Stratford by a very lovely vet that never pushes for anything and knows very much what is going on with small animals. This vet even does after care follow up phone calls at no extra charge.

glencoe experience: I called to ask if they "took" Guinea Pigs and immediately the receptionist was short and rude with me saying/asking if I meant took or treat. She had to correct me on everything, even when I didn't get the chance to give out the information yet. She kept trying to push that they are the only people that will help my guinea pig and that I am hopeless to go elsewhere.
Just the receptionist alone made me not want to bring my piggy there as she acted like I was a complete idiot and incapable of taking care of my pets, continuously cutting me off. She wanted to call me an hour before they could see me (I told her I am 50 minutes away) so that I could head to them, no proper appointment time.
I told her that I needed to check with my ride (I cannot drive for medical purposes) that I can get there and I will call back directly after. During this time I checked every vet within a 50 minute radius and found someone MUCH more caring and understanding that gave me a proper appointment time on the same day.
Wanting to be nice and not leave them hanging, I did call back to say that unfortunately it wouldn't work today, came up with the fastest excuse to not have to go there, saying that I couldn't find a ride today, but thank you anyways and after that she started to tell me to ask my neighbours for a ride and check with everyone because they would be the only people to treat my piggy and I need to get a ride to them today.
Repeatedly harassed me and made me feel incompetent until I said I will just take my piggy to an emergency vet, at which point she then told me that the emergency vets are way to far away and still going to them would be the best/only option, and that I need to be careful because most vets besides them don't actually know anything about Guinea Pigs but will still "treat" them.

I thought I was going to be harassed on the phone forever until she finally let me go. May I add, I was nice the entire time and did not show my frustration, I was just worried about my piggy.

I treat my guinea pig beyond well, she is completely spoiled and has the biggest c&c cage setup that a piggy could need. She is only 3 years old but this woman told me that "well she is a senior" and acted like I was completely incompetent regarding them. Guinea Pigs with proper care should live 5-7 years.

I brought my rabbit in for his ear mites after being referred to him by a vet in Sarnia. He was absolutely fantastic and very kind throughout, also explaining to me why my attempts at treatment didn’t work which was something a lot of vets would not do.

It is important to note that if there is an emergency it will come first over everything else, so be prepared to wait if there is an emergency.

Overall, if you need a vet for a more exotic animal this vet is the place to go and don’t be afraid to ask questions because Dr Foote is damn good at what he does.
