I have been a member for almost 2 yrs at this location. Haven't had a chance to go to the gym at all due to getting very busy with my business, but nevertheless paid my monthly membership dues without a fail
Anyhow, decided to start going regularly a few weeks ago. On my first visit, i wasn't impressed with the cleanliless of the man changerooms and lockers condition. After my workout, i then went on to use the sauna. Now, have in mind, that having a sauna was the main reason why i joined this Goodlife location vs going to a lot cheaper gym in the area. It turns out that the temperature in the sauna was sort of warm (at best), and chatting with some other members, i found out that the sauna hasn't been working properly for at least few weeks...imagine my disappointment! After few days i went back to the gym and asked to cancel my membership, and i was told they will charge me another month, even though their sauna is practically not working, and have used the gym once in 2 years. Their manager didn't think it was appropriate to wave the upcoming charge either... I was definitely left with a sour taste in my mouth after the whole experience, and wouldn't recommend this location to anyone i know anymore.

Been going here since November. Started training with one of their trainers Richard. He’s been amazing, crafting my body the way I’ve requested. My family and friends have noticed, not just my shape but also how it’s changed my life in so many ways.

This gym is poorly run and filled with the Karen’s of the world. Their treadmills are continually broken and need repair. The space is too small for the amount of equipment and people using the gym. Change rooms are small and cheaply built. They had broken TVs up for years and then just removed them without replacing. Good luck catching the score in any game you want to watch while lifting. Only TWO squat racks for public use and with the amount of people using them, good luck getting a spot. Compared to “nice” Goodlife’s like downtown or Clairview or any other gym, this place is a dump considering what you pay and what you get. The cherry on top is the staff policing the parking lot and calling bylaw officers to ticket cars. St.Albert needs more and better gym options.

Great gym for anyone at any level of fitness. From a beginner to a gym rat this place is great to check out at any stage of your fitness journey. Most recently, Ethan at the front desk helped a friend and I out with some drop ins. He also gave us a fast digestible run down of different payment options to live the GoodLife. Quite a delightful experience all around.

Recently moved to st. albert from edmonton, and I was going to the clareveiw location prior. But this gym is a joke if it wasn’t for me not being able to drive I wouldn’t waste my money on this dump. Two squat racks and one smith machine is a joke. Not to mention the lack of free weights and overwhelming and useless amount of cardio machines. As someone who works out every day being forced to go after 10pm is ridiculous and the moment I am able to access a different location trust me I will not be coming back. I would also like to hear something from the manager because I keep hearing about these renovations and no actual clarity on what they are going to be. So like what’s going on with that 🙄

I have had a membership on and off since they opened and it has started to go downhill. Its WAY too busy for the amount of equipment there. They need to switch the cardio and weight area or start managing the amount of people in there at once. Theres almost no control on people using one piece of equipment for over 30 min. Theres a lot of people grouping up and just chatting while taking over equipment.

I noticed multiple times teens sneaking past reception through the exit gate to workout with their friends without a membership. Its getting very annoying to pay that much and not being able complete a workout because theres so many people.

They do keep the change rooms quite clean and staff have always been friendly, but they need to start having eyes on the weight area and get it under control.

Not sure whats going on at this goodlife. I know theres not enough space for equiptment but 1 squat rack has been a pain. Also this gym is always busy and now they have somehow changed the age group so kids 13 and up can go here. I cant even find a place to park in the lot now and have to circle 3 times and hope someone leaves. This is not the membership i signed up for pretty sure ill be going elsewhere.

For a Goodlife, this is one of the worst. For an all around gym, it’s okay. I certainly wouldn’t pay the membership fees to have this as my main location.

As other reviews say, the wasted space to the cardio equipment is laughable. A lot are also not working properly. Two treadmills saying 3.5 mph and it’s barely a slow walk.

Upstairs almost isn’t even worth your time. Everything is taken up so you are working out whatever you can find equipment for at that moment. We came early on a weekend morning, so typical gym goers were not even around yet. This place would be horrible at a peak time.

The regular higher cost gym expectants are not part of the program here. Either lack of employee training or ignorance. Massive piles of hair and grime/dirt between the mats for stretching. Dirty and calcified water fountains.

The more annoying things were, no where to collect a towel. Front desk has a sign saying “away”. So just have to go play hide and seek for them or wait it out I guess. The upstairs equipment is so close together you better be in a friendly mood. They are quite literally touching.

Bonus point for it being part of the goodlife chain so I didn’t have to waste money on a drop in. That would have been really disappointing. For a quick fix it’s not bad. For a good workout, I’d drive the 25 mins to a much better location. This one just ain’t it.

Pros, are there is a lot of cardio equipment. So shouldn’t get bored of that. The change rooms are a large size, the sauna is large and heats up quick. Though the dial was reading 80C it clearly isn’t accurate.
