Nous avons tout aimé dans ce restaurant. La déco, le service et le menu. Les prix sont abordables. J’ai commandé les arancinis en entrée et ils étaient aussi bons que ceux que j’ai mangé en Italie. En plat principal, les raviolis sont un délice. Et pour le dessert, gelato à la noisette, miam. Merci à notre serveuse Samantha qui a été efficace et sympathique. Je recommande fortement ce restaurant.

Busy restaurant with a great energy. Staff were friendly with great service. Started with house made bread with oil & Balsamic, bread was really nice.

Appetizer we shared the Stuzzichini. It’s like a combination of a few appies, we really enjoyed it.

I had the lamb rack, and wife had the Tagliatelle con Capesante, she enjoyed the scallops but did find the pasta uninspiring, the lamb was very well done.
We shared the Key lime tart and the Zuccotto. The Zuccotto was very nice but the Key lime tart was amazing.
Very nice meal would recommend

I absolutely loved the Tagliatelle con Capesante pasta perfectly cooked and full of flavor! 🍝 The service was impressively fast, and our food arrived much quicker than expected. A special shout-out to Tyler, who was incredibly accommodating and genuinely friendly. His attention to detail really made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

We had the most incredible meal we had at Il Mercato on NYE, but I'm just getting caught up on my reviews. First off, our waitress was excellent. We started with the Flamingo Club cocktail and appetizers, Pan Seared Scallops with mushroom and truffle cream, and jumbo shrimp with garlic & wine sauce. Our entrees were the Chicken Parmesan and their evening special, Snow Crab Ravioli with limoncello beurre Blanc. We were too full for a full dessert so we had an Affogato for a bit of sweet and hopefully avoid a nap from all that delicious pasta. Absolutely delicious, we loved every aspect of this meal and experience.

This food at this restaurant is SO good!! The restaurant is a little bit loud, but you are so focussed on how delicious the food is that you forget about that. And all the staff are very friendly, professional and attentive. Our family eats at many restaurants in this city and we as a family all agree that this is the best restaurant in Halifax!

First off, the service here was excellent and the restaurant is pretty inside. Drinks were good and served quickly. Our appetizers consisted of the Caesar Salad, Burrata Salad, Bruschetta and an order of French Fries. The French fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, absolutely perfect. The Caesar Salad and Burrata Salad got mixed reviews - which is totally personal taste - but the bruschetta was a total flop. The topping was soft and mushy, like they used canned tomatoes, and the whole thing was a soggy mess. We didn’t bother to finish that. For entrees, we ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with Fettucine Alfredo, the Pan Seared Halibut and a Margherita Pizza. These were all underwhelming. The pizza was okay, but nothing to rave about. The halibut, again, was just okay - not bad but nothing noteworthy. The fettucine Alfredo was good, but the chicken was awful - the breasts were pounded so thin and the breading overwhelmed the chicken, and when it was fried, it became like eating dry sand. Also, the cooking oil must have been really old because the crust tasted of old fish, which is a result of cooking with old oil. I ate one bite and wrapped the rest up, which got taken home and didn’t get eaten. For a nice restaurant, that’s a let down. For dessert, we got Key Lime Tart, Toffee Coffee Crunch Cake and Crème Brûlée. Crème Brûlée was amazing, toasted perfectly and delicious. The cake was good and impressive in size. The key lime tart filling was great but the tart shell almost required a jack hammer to get through - hard as a rock. Other than the tart shell being made of stone, the desserts were excellent. One last thing to note, at least for us, was that the restaurant was really hot. Our son had to step outside to cool off part way through the meal, and my husband - who is always cold and uses and electric blanket year round - was in a t-shirt and he was sweating. It put a damper on the meal. But, service was fantastic and it’s obvious the staff is trained properly. However, it was overall disappointing given all the rave reviews.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Il Mercato! The ambience was excellent and the service was top-notch. The complimentary bread was really good. As an appetizer, we ordered the Bruschetta, which was mind-blowing — definitely a must-try! For the main course, we tried the Pork Tenderloin, Penne roasted chicken, and Alfredo Chicken (kids' portion). Absolutely loved the pork tenderloin, especially with its amazing creamy sauce. Every dish was absolutely delicious. We loved it. There was a complimentary ice cream as a birthday treat. Overall, an excellent experience with great food, outstanding service, and a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended!
