Just stepping into a new place one can feel how welcoming and warm, this one of those categories.
Regardless of its location in a remote Arctic community, this is one of the best hotels I visited this year.

Max does a phenomenal job at keeping guests happy truly a great team he has here I travel all over Nunavut for work and this is hands down the best hotel in Nunavut great work keep it up

Not your average run of the mill hotel. I like that they let you clean your room and will bring you extra things if needed. Beds in the rooms are on the firmer side, but pillows are of several varieties (from firm to soft). Though I was a bit sad I didn't have a tub, I can understand why a stand up shower would be the option up there. Staff were friendly and welcoming. They picked me up as soon as my plane landed and not only dropped me off at the airport, but also brought me (very cheerily) to the airport on more than one occasion. They always took great care to prepare my dinner meals and leave them on the table for when I got home from working late. I loved that staff would join me if I was eating alone and despite the construction/noise, the atmosphere was always happy. (By the way...those new rooms when done will be amazing with very roomy showers!) By the end of the week I felt like I was part of the family!

Clean and well maintained place. This is the most important.||||Staff is a little disorganized with reservations. They seemed surprised when we arrived and then said there was a conflict with our reservation. When our coworker arrived later in the week they tried to put him in a room with me with no warning even though there were rooms available (but they were going to be filled later) and we were to move to one of the available houses if the rooms filled up.||||I did not try the food so I can't judge that.||||Room was only cleaned once during a week long stay. Not a big deal to me but others might want more.||||If you bring your own food it better be microwaveable because they will not let guests use the kitchen.||||Internet is quite slow but is enough to do some basic browsing. YouTube won't work but VOIP services like Fongo and Skype worked fine. The latency is too high for gaming if that's something you're into (expect a ping over 700ms).||||Limited TV channels but enough to stay mostly entertained.||||One major complaint I had was the shower head does not aim low enough to rinse anything below your chest very well because the shower stall is so small.

Manager is super friendly and goes out of his way to learn your name. Rooms are simple and very clean and the food is superb, had a variety of specials each day too.

Kugaaruk is a great little community. Full of culture.
And the inukshuk inn is a cozy place to stay with a great view of the bay.
The managers Liza and Jim are awesome.
