Leur lobster sandwich était très goûteux et généreux. Le meilleur que j'ai mangé de la région. À essayer, malgré le prix un peu élevé mais comparable aux autres places dans la province.

I recently ordered takeout from Mr. Singh’s quick n tasty and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The ordering process was smooth and my food was ready for pickup exactly when promised.

The packaging was top-notch, ensuring everything stayed hot and fresh. I appreciated the attention to detail in how everything was packed.

As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! The “Samosa” was flavorful and well-prepared, with generous portions that left me fully satisfied. The “Thali” was equally impressive, maintaining its texture and taste even after the short trip home.

Overall, the quality of the food and the efficiency of the service make it a go-to choice for a convenient and tasty meal. Highly recommended 👍

for my GLUTEN FREE friends- this restaurant no longer serves chickpea battered fish/chicken in a dedicated frier. as such, it is no longer accommodating these gluten free meals as i had seen from reviews earlier this year.

make sure to ask about all the appetizers (even indian apps), as the ones that are normally gluten free are not at this restaurant.

Mr. Singh’s Quick N Tasty is a fantastic spot, The place was really crowded when we got in there around 5:30 on a Sunday evening.

The large seating area is perfect for groups, and even though it was crowded during our visit, the service was impressively quick.

The staff handled the rush efficiently, and the food was tasty and satisfying. The menu is mix of Indian, local seafood, sandwiches, salads n lots of desserts.

We tried samosas, samosa chat, masala chai for snacks while our take out order was getting ready for dinner. Ordered Butter Chicken, Butter Naan, Egg Curry with Rice n blueberry pie. Everything was delicious.

If you’re looking for a typical Indian taste then you will be little disappointed like me. Both curries tasted sweet n surprisingly watery. Nevertheless it was a great experience visiting this place.

Very scenic location, great ambiance n quick service !!

The food was delicious! I ordered a seafood platter, the scallops tasted fresh, as well as the fish and clams(they're in the pic but the plate was so full they were buried.. lol) There was also shrimp and a side of creamed lobster and toast. The cream lobster had excellent flavour. The staff was super friendly and the service was excellent. UPDATE: NEW OWNER! Now called Mr. Singh's quick and tasty offering the regular seafood menu but also some Indian cuisine. Seafood platter changed a little, still delicious, chicken biryani was delicious, and so was the gulab jamun I had for dessert!!! Highly recommend!!!

This place has both indian and local food. We have ordered Grand Indian Thali, Samosa chat,Butter chicken, Paneer Bhurji, Hot chicken sandwich and seafood platter.

All the dishes taste very nice. My kids enjoyed Chicken sandwich and butten chicken with Garlic naan and Panner Bhurji. We enjoyed Grand indian thali and samosa chat. I strongly recommend if you are looking for some good local food with indian flavours to taste in Yarmouth.

The desserts are so yummy. Please visit the place to have nice and tasty food.

Nestled along the scenic Highway 1 in Dayton, Yarmouth, Mr. Singh’s Quick-n-Tasty Restaurant is a delightful fusion of maritime tradition and vibrant Indian flair. Stepping into this cozy diner feels like a warm embrace, blending the nostalgic charm of a classic 1960s eatery with the aromatic allure of Indian spices. Having recently dined here, I can confidently say this spot is a must-visit for locals and travelers alike.
The restaurant’s history is as rich as its menu. Originally opened in the 1960s as Quick-N-Tasty, it gained fame for Clara Harris’s iconic hot lobster sandwich, a creamy, indulgent masterpiece that remains a menu staple. Since its transition to Mr. Singh’s Quick-n-Tasty in 2024, the restaurant has preserved its seafood legacy while introducing an exciting array of Indian dishes, creating a unique dining experience that celebrates both Nova Scotia’s coastal bounty and the bold flavors of India.
Our meal began with a plate of samosas, golden and crispy, filled with a perfectly spiced mixture of potatoes and peas. Each bite was a burst of flavor, complemented by a tangy tamarind chutney that elevated the dish to new heights. The masala chai, served steaming hot, was a comforting blend of cardamom and cinnamon, offering a soothing start to the meal. For seafood lovers, the hot lobster sandwich lived up to its legendary reputation—succulent lobster enveloped in a velvety cream sauce, served on toasted bread with a side of crispy fries. The portion was generous, and the flavors were a harmonious balance of rich and savory, evoking the essence of Yarmouth’s coastal heritage.
The Indian offerings were equally impressive. The butter chicken was a standout, with tender chicken simmered in a creamy tomato sauce that was both comforting and vibrant. Paired with fluffy butter naan, it was a dish that warmed the soul. For dessert, we indulged in the gulab jamun, soft dough balls soaked in rose-scented syrup, which provided a sweet and fragrant finale. The menu also boasts an array of homemade desserts, including the famed Mile High Lemon Meringue Pie and Coconut Cream Pie, which we’re already looking forward to trying on our next visit.
What truly sets Mr. Singh’s apart is its commitment to quality and inclusivity. The restaurant caters to gluten-free diners with options like fish and chips breaded with chickpea flour and prepared in a dedicated fryer. The staff’s knowledge and care in handling dietary needs, as noted by reviewers, ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities. The gluten-free Turtles Cheesecake, in particular, has garnered praise for its decadent flavor.
The ambiance is another highlight. The diner retains its retro charm with vintage decor that pays homage to its 1960s roots, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Large windows offer glimpses of Yarmouth’s serene landscapes, and the spacious seating area is ideal for families or groups. Despite a bustling Sunday evening crowd, the service was remarkably prompt, with staff members radiating warmth and professionalism. Their attentiveness, from refilling drinks to offering menu recommendations, made us feel like cherished guests. Pricing at Mr. Singh’s is refreshingly reasonable, offering excellent value for the generous portions and high-quality ingredients. The restaurant also provides convenient takeout and delivery options through Uber Eats and DoorDash, with reviewers praising the meticulous packaging that ensures food arrives hot and fresh.
In a town known for its seafood, Mr. Singh’s Quick-n-Tasty stands out by offering a menu that bridges cultures and eras. Whether you’re craving the comforting nostalgia of a lobster sandwich, the bold spices of Indian cuisine, or a gluten-free treat, this restaurant delivers with heart and soul. It’s a place where tradition meets innovation, and every dish tells a story of Yarmouth’s past and present. I left with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a promise to return soon. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Yarmouth
