Less than five minutes walk from the Halifax cruise port. Good coffee, friendly service. They also offer alternative milk substitutes like almond.

Nestled in second floor of a two floor lobby of an energy company is Jolt Cafe. Canada’s luckiest energy employees get to take daily advantage of this amazing find. Finding Jolt, for the uninitiated, is a bit of a catch since you think you are walking into an office building but a kind security guard quickly points you upstairs in the lobby to Jolt.

Hot coffees and teas abound. For breakfast their “breakfast sandwich” is a bacon and egg on thick focaccia bread with fresh tomato and lettuce, and some mayonnaise-based spread that absolutely completes it. They also have yummy muffins and croissants of various descriptions and fruit filled pastries. And this is just their Breakfast offerings. I have a feeling lunch would be equally as interesting but we didn’t stay. Sadly this was our first coffee pick on our visit to Halifax and there are other places to experience but none will best this for coffee and breakfast although ambiance (this is an office building building mind you) might be improved in the 1890’s storefronts around the corner. Put Jolt on your coffee “must do”list.

Jolt Cafe is an absolute gem in Halifax. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

The coffee at Jolt is some of the best I've had - it's clear that the baristas take their craft seriously, with each cup of coffee expertly crafted and perfectly balanced. which added a special touch to my morning coffee.

Great hidden coffee place, breakfast and lunch options, the staff is very nice. You can take-out or dine in, there's a nice ocean view, small seating area. Recommend!

Stopped by the Cafe and grabbed a Butter Chicken to go. It came with naan, raita, and a poppadum. It was very tasty and the value was good. Great customer service.
