Worst place I’ve ever tried to stay! Mice poop all over the room including in the bed. When I asked to be moved he got mad at me like it wasn’t a big deal that there was poop in the bed! Rude and ignorant staff. And. Best of all BED BUGS! Slept in my truck. Horrible place!

Extremely happy customer here! Family run place, very decent and clean rooms. Very quiet, amazing place. I'm a truck driver (car hauler), the owner helped me park in a spot where I can see my trailer with the vehicles just so I'm comfortable, not that there's any security issues or anything at all. I know where I'm staying next time I'm in Terrace for business or passing through. Very competitive price as well.

The only place in town that doesn't want over $200 a night. Run by good people who will give you a reasonable rate.

First of all I booked my room a week in advance and when I arrived they gave my room away to someone else with the same first name. After that they gave me a room that cost more and didn’t compensate me for the inconvenience of that. The room had no air conditioning just a free standing fan and the oven didn’t work. The ceiling of my room was disgusting and looking like it has never been clean. I would not recommend this place unless you have no other choice

Really nice little room at a similar price to the Rainbow. The motel seems to be run by an older lady, and that may be why there are so many mixed reviews. Perhaps details are forgotten from time to time, but when I was there it was great.

Located on the outskirts of Terrace heading towards Prince Rupert, the Kalum Motel looks like it got stuck in a 1980s time warp. The colours, room fixtures and furnishings all look like they came from the “big 80s” (and they probably did). Despite that, though, the motel is actually pretty comfortable, clean and affordable; it is, therefore, quite decent for a one or two-night stay.||||As far as amenities go, the Kalum Motel has everything that we’ve come to expect of a modern accommodation unit, plus a little bit more: Refrigerator (full-size!), coffee maker, plates, cutlery, cooking stove, flat screen TV, free WiFi, microwave, dishwasher, fully appointed bathroom and ample parking. Granted, the TV stand, bed cover and headboard are all looking rather dated, but they’re clean; besides, I think this retro look helps to give the Kalum Motel a bit more character!||||The Kalum Motel also has a fine East Indian restaurant attached: Haryana’s. I’ve written about this eatery elsewhere (see my earlier review on this site), and have been back many times since. Basically, I stand by what I wrote two years ago: “Everything here is homemade, following traditional Indian recipes. And because of that, you typically have to wait a little while for your food and for me that’s a non-issue [. . . .] Everything I’ve ordered here has been excellent.” Indeed, it’s nice to have authentic, traditional East Indian cuisine right at your proverbial doorstep. However, if pub fare is more to your liking, Mumford’s – also excellent – is a short walk down the road.||||The only downside I can really see to Kalum Motel is its distance from everything else in town. If you have a vehicle, then this essentially turns into a non-issue because you’ll be a mere few minutes’ from bustling downtown Terrace. If you are sans vehicle, however, you might feel a bit isolated.||||In summation, the Kalum Motel is pretty basic, but represents really good value for money. The average price is just $89 a night and rooms do include full kitchenettes. If, like me, you can get past – or even embrace – the 80s era furniture, then you’ll undoubtedly enjoy your stay in this quaint little motel.
