Have dined here many times. Recent visit the food was very bad. Sauces very oily and chicken was so dry and tough to chew. Brought concerns to waitress who was excellent. Owner never even came to the table to acknowledge. Will not return. If you are looking for amazing authentic Italian food go to Speekeezies or Gran Sasso. This place has gone down hill. Meal was $100. And quality was $25.

Similar to other reviews since last fall, we came in on a Saturday night at 7:30pm and unfortunately had to cancel our entree dishes after finally receiving our appetizers after 1 1/2 hours since sitting down (with our waitress confirming that our entrees hadn’t even started to be made yet). The problem seemed to stem from there being only 1 chef, and while I’m empathetic to the situation, they were continuing to take in new reservations and walk ins, with no warning of the situation or how long dinner service would be.On top of all this, we received no apology until the end (in passing) and were charged in full for our appetizers. There seems to be something wrong with management and thing should be figured out before people waste their time and money.

The food here is amazing. I've never had better Italian food! The atmosphere is lovely and the service is great. The owner is very personable and friendly. We brought visitors from Italy and she came out to meet them and talk to them in Italian. They appreciated that very much as did we. Thanks again, we had a great meal and an even better time!

Authentic Italian spot in the heart of St. George. This place was recommended by someone we know and it didn't disappoint.

We had the gnocchi and the linguine pescatore. Both were fantastic and great service and ambiance as well.

Highly recommend a visit and we will be back!

We have eaten at many great places around the world. We came here for out 5th wedding anniversary. What I ask for in Italian is made from scratch with fresh ingredients at fair prices.We will be back again and again. A little gem in St. George, Ontario.We really enjoyed it. Met the owner, our waitress was great and the food - AMAZING.

Ordered veal piccata for $38 and requested fettucine alfredo versus oiled spaghetti. $10 upcharge - steep but okaaaay. Meal arrived drowned in half inch of oil over entire plate so alfredo sauce was an oily trainwreck. $48 + tax and inedible.Worst meal ever, colossal rip-off. Did the same to friend's pasta primavera. Like WTH? Did not penalize the server though. Will never go back.

Such a charming and comfortable atmosphere, food and service was great. Well worth the drive if you’re not near St. George and if you live close by you probably already know how great it is.

I've been here twice over the past year and loved it! First time was for my birthday, 2nd was for mine and my husband's 10th wedding anniversary. Both times, the service was fantastic and the food came out at a timely pace. The food itself is delicious. I like the variety and the specials are tasty too. We are so happy that they have our favourite dessert too, creme brulee! The atmosphere is relaxing, warm and inviting. La cantinella is definitely our go-to place for somewhere special to eat.
