Spacious casual restaurant befitting its name. Service was very friendly and timely. The food was yummy and simply but nicely presented. We came during Happy Hour so got the Burger and Chicken Sandwich on the smaller menu offered at that time. Substituted yam fries which were actually really good. Nicely seasoned and crispy on the outside. Overall would come back again if we return to the area.

My daughter and I are in Penticton for a week-long holiday and the Trestles cycling tour. We are staying at the Balcomo so we popped into Local after a 10+ hour drive from Edmonton. A lovely experience and really great energy in the restaurant and bar. The food was excellent, and our server Kiara was very attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Highly recommend!! We'll be back.

3 stars for the food and 5 stars for the amazing service. Ordered a 10 oz sirloin rare, and half of the steak was overcooked, but the other half was extra juicy and quite salty. Good looking barman came by and asked how was it? I shared my thoughts and said don't worry about it. I'm already halfway in. When I finished he took my plate away and said it was on the house, with a big smile. I left $20 tip and will definitely come back for this type of service. Thank you.

Had a really good meal from drinks to desert. Shrimp dumplings and cheese pierogi's were great. Drinks were delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Happy Hour menu is a great value.

Food was great but it really seemed like slower service considering how few people were there. Either way it wasn’t bad service, just a little quicker so we aren’t waiting 20 minutes for drinks would be nice. Had the chicken waffles, really crispy but chicken was still moist. All and all it was a great time.

What an amazing place! I’m truly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious — full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully served. We came here for brunch. The outdoor seating is lovely and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the Belgium waffles with fruit and the steak and eggs. The steak and eggs was a true winner of an order would highly recommend it and even come back for this. The crispy potatoes were amazing and we appreciated that they pre-sliced the steak and that it was actually cooked to our order of rare- restaurants almost always overcook and ruin it. The garlic butter on top was decent. Only suggestion would be that they sprinkle rock sugar on the waffles, which was overkill. It was far too sweet and weird that it crunched between our teeth. The maple syrup, sweetened whipping cream and sweetened berries sauce would’ve been more than sweet enough-I’d recommend they get rid of the added crystallized sugar. Other than that, we thought it was great
