Un motel accueillant, propre, tout près du centre-ville à quelques minutes des magnifiques plages et deux musées fort intéressant à visiter. des propriétaires sympathiques qui donne envie d'y retourner.

This is a very basic motel. It was clean, but the furniture was dated. My unit had a kitchenette that looked like it had never been used. Also, if you are picky about your hair care, bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The wifi didn't work either. However, the manager let me back into my room after check out at 8 AM because I forgot something, so that was very nice of him.

Do not know what the rooms were like. From the outside this is a beautiful looking little place. We accidentally booked the wrong day. With that they have a 72 hour cancellation policy. Which is understandable considering the limited amount of rooms available. The lady at the counter was kind and only charged us half the cost. The only disturbing part was she says it happens a lot which leads me to believe there is issues with booking online. Will have to go and check. I have now went and checked and found that there monthly calendar runs Monday to Sunday. Being used to every other place doesn't matter what it is. Calamders run Sunday to Saturday. My mistake yes but this place is taking full advantage and with 72 hour cancellation policy they just charge the card and carry on. Shame

Honestly disappointed. I had read all the reviews and prizes won... for what? I stayed two days in room 03. The furnitures were cheap, the door had a gap with the frame which let humidity, wind and noise get in, it smelled of stale air and humidity, there was mold starting to grow in the bathroom, the electric pannel didn't close and had a screw for handle... which, I'm pretty, sure doesn't comply to H&S regulations, and a few more things that were honestly very ordinary for a motel with such high ratings. And on top of that, I arrived in the middle of the day... no one in the office, had to wait to check in. The young man at least appologiezed when he arrived. The only positive point, the main areas (toilet, counter, beside table) were clean. So it's not the worst... because I've seen far worse, but sadly it falls into my "non-recommendable" list.

When I read other people's positive reviews about the Maple Leaf Motel in Goderich, I feel like I'm in an alternate universe. On Friday, June 27, 2025, we arrived at our prebooking and we paid $224.97 for the overnight accommodation. Online it was promoted for $149. We were tired and since the motel had a 4.7 rating online, we felt certain it would be a pleasant overnight stay. We were completely wrong.||In my opinion, the room was small with an overall shabby impression. There was only one semi-comfortable chair. There was one bedside table containing a lamp and a small plastic fan with some type of black residue on the blades. The baseboards were not clean. The kitchen area was tiny and the coffee pot and kettle were not clean. The mugs (no glasses) and coffee supplies looked haphazard. We never used anything in the kitchen.||It was a hot 30 degrees C outside so we turned on the hard-to-reach (or read) air conditioner. It didn't appear to be working until we discovered that the baseboard heater was set for 75 degrees F. What happened to prepping the room for guests?||The TV was pretty much useless. One remote contained enticing buttons like Netflix, Crave, Disney, etc. Unfortunately none of the buttons worked. I tried to contact the office by phone (as per the instructions) but the phone was dead. I went to the office and the attendant came to the room, fiddled with the black box, and handed me the other remote, stating there were a few channels. Shortly thereafter, we gave up and turned the TV off.||We slept badly and quickly left before 8 the next morning. To state the obvious, we will not be returning to the Maple Leaf Motel in Goderich.

We stayed in the Maple Leaf Motel for a night on a road trip that included Goderich. The owners of the motel were very friendly, polite and engaging when we checked in. Our room was the closest to the road, which we didn't realize was such a busy one. Still, being such a hot day, the airconditioning drowned most of the traffic sounds out. The rooms were very clean and there was a small seletion of goods with which to prepare meals. Check-in and out was easy. The motel is walking distance to the main town square and beyond. Would definitely recommend for a quick visit to the area!
