I went there for the first time yesterday evening and I am blown away by this place! The quality of the food was far better then what I expected for the price. The seafood salad was loaded with fresh, good quality sashimi that just melted in my mouth! I also had the speciality roll "Rocky Roll", a true masterpiece! I had to try the avocado shake since I never had one before. Although avocado in a milkshake sounds a little strange, I think I found my new favorite milkshake! Give it a try, it doesn't disappoint! The service was great and I really appreciated the privacy that each dinning room offered. The only thing I could criticize is that is was a little chilly in there, the air-conditioning could have been turned down a bit. I also would have preferred warm lightbulbs instead of the bright daylight lightbulbs to offer a bit more coziness, but now I am nitpicking. Overall I had a wonderful evening and I cannot wait to bring family and friends to share this unique experience with!

Was in PR for hockey tournament, went to Minato for dinner with my kid. We ordered teriyaki beef and chicken and two rolls to share.
Every tasted surprisingly for remote city good!
Recommend this place!

2.5 stars - not terrible, but also not memorable. Some of the fish wasn't super-fresh tasting. The miso soup was very salty. Rolls also fell apart easily.

I live in the city, and head out to powell river at least 2 times a month. Almost everytime I come here, unless I arrive later then expected! Food is good, and service is great as well! Stop in if you can! I’m sure the locals do!

This must be the best Japanese restaurant in Powell River. The food is on point and noticeably fresh. They have cute little booths so you can eat as much as you want without anybody judging. Service is great too.

We arrived late in the evening, about an hour before closing. The restaurant was full with a table just finishing up. The servers quickly cleared the table and invited us to our table. We were asked what we'd like to drink and we ordered the tea, which was delivered very quickly and hot. We ordered our meals, after about 10 minutes the miso soup was delivered and about 5 minutes later our main course was served. The food was hot and fresh and delicious. The servers are very pleasant and we love our experience eating here. The atmosphere is pleasant with mostly private tables. Thank you!

Very interesting place. Private tables. And... Very clean washrooms.
They have photos of their dishes on the walls (like famous people's gallery). I wish they would have the same pictures on their menu.

Moved here from the city and I’ve been to every sushi place in Powell River. Minato is without a doubt the best sushi place in town.
