So first off this gym has started with a single mom trying to bring a community some smiles for children that love gymnastics (Brighton Ontario).Every time I'm in there I see children with massive smiles and learning something they love. This place is a great place to get to have some fun and meet new friends.The coaching staff are fantastic with the children and these kids build new relationships and make a forever friend. The centre is constantly changing for the better and trying to accommodate each and every child that comes to this club. I highly recommend bringing your child to NGC to learn and have fun all at the same time.

My daughters started out trying NGC’s March Break camp in 2022. Since then we signed four of them up for recreational classes, they moved onto advanced and had the drive to tryout for competitive. My girls have felt comfortable to be themselves, encouraged to try new things and celebrated for every new skill developed.
There have been many improvements over the last two years and I personally feel like the program and facilities get better and better.
We love the friendly staff and my girls look up to the coaches. This facility does not have a high overturn of staff. We are continuously greeted by the same friendly faces which makes it comfortable. And new faces quickly become friends.
In house competitions, ‘Rec n Rolls’ are always our favourite.

Northumberland Gymnastics Centre is not a safe space for children. Two weeks prior to posting here, my daughter reported to us that a derogatory, sexist slur was directed at her by one of her teenage coaches during class. She initially mistook it as an incorrectly used name and corrected the coach, which thankfully lessened the impact on her. It’s worth noting that the coach was visibly under significant stress, outnumbered 10-1 by a largely uncooperative group of little ones that day, and I do empathize with her situation in that regard. However, the comment was completely unacceptable, and ironically made in a location not visible from the viewing window. All of this coupled with other supporting evidence made it very clear to us this was not a simple misunderstanding on my daughter’s part.

After reporting the incident, the systemic issues at this establishment became apparent. It’s clear that the young coaches are being let down by their head coach and business owner, Erika. Her handling of the situation demonstrated poor leadership and a lack of respect. She failed to follow through on several promises and even arrived 30 minutes late to our in-person meeting. It’s no surprise that a young coach might lash out given such an environment.

During the meeting, the accused coach couldn’t definitively deny or admit her comment, and Erika repeatedly suggested that it was a one-time occurrence that wouldn’t happen again. There was no apology. Shockingly, she wouldn’t even definitively acknowledge that the coach she invited to our meeting was even the one overseeing my daughter's class that day. Overall, there was zero accountability, zero remorse, and a lack of respect that was evident in her tardiness.

We will not be returning to this gym, and I feel it’s important for other parents to be aware of these issues. We hope this incident serves as a learning experience for the young coach and brings awareness to the problems here so that something like this can never happen to a kid again in this facility.

LOVE! From the minute we walk through the door this place feels like my daughter's home away from home! She loves her Coach, team and Teresa at the front desk! It's nice when the staff all know you by your first name!

NGC is best decision we ever made for our family. The staff here know every child’s name and take the time to get to know their personalities . We currently have 2 children in gymnastics and cheer at the Cobourg location and continue to recommend it to everyone looking for a friendly gym . This is truly the most welcoming family gym in Northumberland !

The Brighton location is a very unsafe area for kids. They have tall heavy planks of wood leaning against the walls that can easily fall on the children. It's an accident waiting to happen. My granddaughter was playing hide and go seek under one of the planks. I placed the plank on the floor before it fell on her. Ten minutes later one of the workers placed it back up against the wall. I'm back a month later and there are still heavy planks leaning against the walls. Don't understand why there are no health and safety standards.

Wouldn’t recommend. I had my daughter here for a little while. I moved her around to try different programs. Here she was bullied and never really got to do what I paid for. She finally asked me to never go back. I called to cancel and wasn’t asked a single word why. Only that I still have to pay for the month she won’t be attending… I was also rushed off the phone so fast no one actually cancelled my account and I had to call again!
