My fiancé and I recently enjoyed a weekend getaway at The Otter Hotel, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The photos online accurately represent the rooms, which were clean, comfortable, and beautiful.

Although the on-site hot tubs weren’t open yet, we were given access to the hot tubs at The Canoe, which was a great alternative. The hotel’s location made it easy to explore Banff, with everything just a quick bus ride away. The staff were always friendly and eager to help, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed.

One of the highlights for us was the hotel’s fantastic pet-friendly policy. Traveling with our two cats was a breeze, and we truly appreciated how accommodating they were. Every staff member went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, making us feel genuinely welcome and at home.

By the time we were driving home, we were already planning our next visit. We highly recommend The Otter Hotel and can’t wait to return!

The Otter Hotel was our choice for our first time in Banff to celebrate our winter honeymoon. The staff was exceptionally helpful. We would like to specially thank Freddy at the help desk for going an extra mile by being helpful, kind, and suggesting the perfect choice for everyone of our plans.

The restaurant is amazing, and we had the best cocktails in Banff at the bar. This we say, after having a drink at about four other local destinations.

We look forward to visiting again!

We had an incredible stay at Otter Hotel in Banff! The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered a breathtaking mountain view. It was the perfect place to unwind after exploring the area.

The dining options were absolutely fantastic. Both Good Folk and Sudden Sally exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, and the service was top-notch at both restaurants. The menus at both places were extremely innovative, and utilized local ingredients in unique combinations. We can honestly say the food alone is worth the stay!

The combination of a cozy room, stunning views, and exceptional dining made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend the Otter Hotel to anyone visiting Banff!

From the moment we arrived we have been treated extremely well. The check-in was incredibly smooth and painless, they also offer you some fresh tea & coffee upon check-in to take to your room with you as well as bus tickets for up to 3 days to transport you around town as the hotel is located at the start of town. The rooms are very up to date and modern as expected being new. It was our 3 year anniversary and we were greeted with a beautiful dessert setting with Happy Anniversary inscribed in Chocolate and a gift card for $30 to the Hotel Restaurant (Good Folk).

Soon after settling into our room we headed down to dinner - they went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic table with window views. As soon as we were seated the waiter greeted us with glasses of Champagne for our anniversary which was completed unexpected. The communication between the Hotel and the Restaurant was unbelievable. As for the food we would highly recommend it, if it isn't the best food in Banff I'd like someone to tell me what is after trying this place.

Just a heads up the Hot Pools are not available yet but they do inform you that you can use the ones at Hotel Canoe & Suites.

I would highly recommend choosing Otter Hotel for your next stay in Banff.

From the moment we arrived at the Otter Hotel we were made to feel so welcome.
Wonderful receptionist. Friendly, efficient and courteous. Very informative and helped us on a couple of occasions (especially ski lockers lock).
The room was excellent with newly refurbished shower room.
Fabulous restaurant. The quality of the food is incredible. Having travelled Queens Grill on Cunard recently, Cunard need to look at what this young chef and his highly talented team are producing at a very reasonable price. The Boar Chop is a masterpiece and the Ribeye steak for two, was the best steak I have eaten ever. The restaurant staff are very knowledgeable about the menu and the produce used to prepare the wonderful meals served here. The Chef when possible, will speak to guest and is very appreciative of feedback. An absolutely wonderful experience. Over the three nights we ate at the Otter restaurant we spent no more money than we would have going to a mediocre restaurant in Banff. Absolutely worth eating here, even if you are not a resident.

I spent three days at this hotel and had a great experience. The hotel is new, so no all the facilities were available but the room was exceptional, everything was clean and new. The stuff was friendly and helpful. The coffee and tea experience was good. The only downside was they offered us an upgrade for a better view for a nice price, we took it but the view was just to the building in front.
Highly recommend it. The restaurant in the main floor was exceptional.

Booked the King room as a much needed rest answer relaxation getaway for the weekend but didn't get much of either. The heater is positioned in a terrible spot and it blows on the bed anytime it's active. We tried sleeping without it on but the room temperature dropped about 6-8 degrees in only 3 hours. Other than that, the rooms were esthetically pleasing, staff seemed great. Overall, it wasn't the relaxing weekend we were hoping to have.

We stayed at the Otter hotel over new years and we are soo happy we decided to ring the new year in here! The rooms were cute and clean with a beautiful view of the mountains and the hot tub and sauna were great! (Just wished they stayed open later!)
We had dinner at good folk in the hotel and WOW! Best food we had in Banff by far. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by JT from France and she was excellent. The chef Victor came to check on our food experience, he is lovely and sure knows how to cook a mean steak! The tartar was so good we had 2!
Hospitality from Dwayne and Alberta and everyone at the front desk was way above par! Bravo! And looking forwarding to coming again
