How my daughter says “the real swimming lessons”. We’ve been coming here for quite long time and only here we see the progress of our older daughter’s swimming skills. We tried to take her to the public swimming lessons and it’s a fiasco. So many kids on very few instructors. Yes, people pay more at pedalheads. However, you get way more in return!!!! Parking (right by the pool), not as busy, it’s 55 mins a class, the ratio kids/instructor, you don’t need to wake up on a certain day to fight with the entire community to find a spot. This place is very clean. Customer service is spectacular. If we had any issue they make sure we get a credit. Very professional and the swimming pool is only for lessons. Darian make sure all the kids are happy all the time and everyone is satisfied. We had several different instructors and all of them made sure that the connection and the trust with our daughter is very strong!

Worth the money & better than I could dream! My kids are 4 & 6 in group lessons (level 1 & octopus). My husband wants to take them boating so I needed to get them water safe quick & other boating moms recommended this program. Pedalheads not only got them comfortable in the water & taught skills, they got them excited to swim and confident within the first few classes. I love all the tools they use from jumping in with life jackets (which is what they’ll be doing on our boat) to kicking with a board & using googles. I had my youngest in community center swim lessons & canceled those immediately. There’s no need when he’s getting basically private lessons with a highly skilled swim coach, in a warm pool, and learning more skills in one lesson than in months at the community center. I highly recommend & I am confident by the end of lessons they will be safe boating (with their life jackets, of course!). Parking is tight & large changing/bathrooms here. Parents watching area is like a sauna so wear shorts & a tank top. There’s drinking water available, benches/tables, taking pictures is allowed, free wifi, and they sell googles & swimming things on site (if you need or forget).

This was a great experience! Both of my sons learned a lot. A special thank you to Emily. She is a true asset to this company. She takes leadership, really listens, and is a highly skilled and experienced swim instructor. She is a real game changer.

Santiago was such an attentive and wonderful instructor for our daughter! She felt more confident with every lesson, and he made her feel so proud of her progress. I would say the only piece of feedback is that he’s just so polite, and our daughter is QUITE the chatterbox - he shouldn’t be afraid to cut her off and tell her to get swimming!

We have been attending Pedalheads since our son was six months old (he is now 3.5 years old), and we’ve generally had a good experience. However, I was very disappointed with how a recent situation was handled by a team member who identified as a team lead.

Our son had a class at 9 AM, but I wasn’t sure if the pool was open. Since Pedalheads also opens at 9 AM, I had no way to confirm in advance. When I called later to ask about a makeup class, I was met with an unhelpful and rude response. While I understand that makeup classes may not always be possible, the attitude and customer service I received were unacceptable.

I don’t typically leave reviews, but this experience left me very disappointed. I hope Pedalheads prioritizes better customer service training, especially for leadership roles.

My daughter was taking swimming lessons at Pedal Heads Park Royal for almost 4 years! She finished her swimmer 9 lately and had to sadly say bye to them! We all had such a great time and experience there! Always nice, friendly and welcoming staff. All instructors were professional, caring and dedicated. The environment and pool itself were clean and neat. She kind of grew up there learning how to swim in the best way possible! Many thanks to the great team at Park Royal Pedal Heads!
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and warm pool and also friendly and professional instructors for their children!

We’ve been attending Pedalheads West Van for over three years, but unfortunately, the experience has been underwhelming. Despite this long period, our son is still at the Orca Preschool 3 level, which points to slow skill progression and a more relaxed, fun-focused approach rather than structured development.

The make-up policy is unnecessarily rigid for a children’s swim program, requiring a doctor’s note to reschedule a missed class. This inflexibility seems unreasonable for a non-competitive swim setting.

The front reception lacks basic customer service skills and often comes across as dismissive and unhelpful, giving off an impression of authority-driven rather than customer-focused interactions. While the instructors are generally friendly, there have been semesters when they struggled to engage the kids or even be heard clearly during lessons.

Overall, the management appears more focused on revenue than on creating a supportive and adaptable environment for young learners. We hoped for a more flexible and customer-oriented experience but were left disappointed.

Update: Since 2022, we've gone from Crab at 4 years old (Preschool 2) to Swimmer 1 at 5 years old to Swimmer 4 at 6-7 years old (about 5 levels). People may say that's a slow progression but we're very happy with it. We're glad that they take time to make sure my son knows his skills before moving on. Thank you!

We love Pedalheads swimming at Park Royal! We have been attending since 2022 and have found the instructors and staff there to be attentive to our needs. Some of our favorite teachers include Hank, Cloud, Santiago and Marco. Dean and Darian are amazing managers. My son has improved so much in his swimming. Thank you!
