Stan et Carol sont sans contredits des gens forts accueillants et sympathiques qui font tout pour que votre séjour se déroule agréablement. La maison décorée de façon victorienne convient très bien aux occupants. la chambre était de bonne grandeur et les meubles antiques étaient très beaux. J'ai hésité à choisir un B&B car je n'aime pas partager la salle de bains. Même si elle était dans le passage elle nous était réservée à nous. Ce que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.La dame parle bien français. Ils s'intéressent à leurs clientèles (d'où nous venons, ce que nous faisons, si nous avons des enfants etc). Ils ont même pris une photo de nous avant notre départ. Je crois en fait, que Stan était plus intéressé à photographier notre mustang mais peu importe. Le petit déjeuner du matin était composé d'une omelette aux tomates séchées, des toasts, des tranches de pommes de terre, pain au fromage et canneberges, et un style de brioches (buns) à la cannelle, des confitures, le tout fait maison. ||||Le seul bémol. Dans nos recherches internet on nous a donné l'adresse mais en inscrivant 2652 Morien Highway...si vous rentrez ça sur votre GPS vous allez chercher longtemps. Il faut rentrer 2652 Port Morien, route 255 sud. Nous avons tourné et cherché...heureusement je me suis décidée à téléphoner...mais je le recommande!

The Port Morien Rectory is one of the nicest B & B's I have stayed at. The historic building, itself, is in very good condition. Jim & Mona have paid particular attention to its maintenance, have decorated it exquisitely and are keeping it spotlessly clean. The rooms are ample size and very comfortable. In addition to the main seating areas, I very much enjoyed the little sitting room on the second floor above the entrance overlooking the water - with coffee, tea and a small fridge, it made for quite a comfortable reading and observation room for activity on the street and the water. Mona was very personable and attentive to my preferences for breakfast and offered information on local history and what to see in the area. The Port Morien Rectory is conveniently located in a small, working lobster fishing village just minutes away from Glace Bay and interesting hiking around Cape Perce. I would certainly stay at the Port Morien Rectory on my next visit to the area - like a home away from home.

This is a beautiful heritage home meticulously decorated and maintained. It is located in a peaceful and picturesque village away from the hubbub of nearby Glace Bay. We enjoyed the best sleep on the best matress in Cape Breton and this was followed up by the best breakfast as well. Mona is a great cook and she and her husband are friendly and hospitable hosts. We would highly recommend a stay at this lovely property.

We had a one night stay in this beautiful home but it would have been good to stay at least one more night to further explore the area. ||Mona and Jim are very hospitable and provided lots of good information about the area that we hadn’t seen online. Sure enough, we saw some seals in the bay and we found a sand dollar on a nearby sandbar. The big breakfast was delicious and the conversation was good too. We plan to return to this B&B when we return to Cape Breton.

Husband and I stayed on September 14. The house is beautiful. Jim will me happy to tell you a little of the history of the house. Mona is the happiest person around. Breakfast was delicious. ||The room is very comfortable overlooking the street. The village is so quiet, it didn't matter the house is on the main road. ||||We got up early to walk around at sunrise, lots of photo ops!

We visited Nova Scotia for the first time two years ago, and have wanted to return. This was our second stay with Stan and Carol, and it was as lovely as our first. We once again stayed in "Sarah's Room" and found it as cozy and soothing as we remembered. Comfortable bed, fluffy towels, wonderful toiletries and a window facing the water. Heavenly! The breakfasts are delicious and filling- we ended up skipping lunch every day because of those marvelous breakfasts! Stan and Carol are charming, engaging, and a treasure trove of information about the area. It was hard saying goodbye this morning! Thank you again to Stan and Carol for another amazing stay!||P.S. I love collecting sea glass and found the little beach right beside the harbor a fantastic place to search! Lots of common colors (clear, brown, green) AND my favorites- sea foam green and aqua blue!

Unvergesslicher Aufenthalt! Ein wundervolles Haus, leckeres Frühstück.
Das Haus ist sehr sauber und jedes Zimmer ist so hübsch eingerichtet.
Wenn wir das nächste Mal nach Cape Breton kommen werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder bei Mona + Jim übernachten. Vielen Dank

We enjoyed our stay at Port Morien Rectory B&B. The house is an historic property very close to the beach. It is also located close enough to Fort Louisbourg for a day trip there. The room was small but comfortable with a roomy and sparkling bath. We especially enjoyed the yummy breakfast and the visit with the hosts during the meal.
