Unfortunately I can't speak to the actual cabins here, however the experience is more than a room. This is a beautiful little spot just to the north of Vancouver. The camp ground on the water is right next to the cabins and are nice and large site. The real stunner here is the view. The smell of the water, beautiful forests and the sound of sea lions are a dream. This place is definitely on my west coast bucket list now. Hopefully I can update this post with a cabin review.

The current advertising is deceiving and unclear, moreover, why would we not ‘assume’ there to be linen and towels as seen on the advertisements.
This is my question. Why were we not told about this change? In small words were ’bedding suggested’, which is also confusing. Another advertisement said linen and towels are recommended, again, very confusing messages as there was NO bedding at all.
It was like going to a fancy restaurant and ordering food and when it arrives we are told to bring our own cutlery. Who rents out luxury cabins without linen and towels? As much as we tried to enjoy ourselves and let go of our displeasure of having to drive back home to get the linen and towels, it did affect the ambience.
The luxury cabin is stocked with every kitchen utensil (left in totes with old water which makes it smell) and appliances ( only 1/2 burners worked) but no bare necessities for a good night sleep by the ocean.
There was no acknowledgement for the request from many of reviewers to be more bold and clear about NO LINEN OR TOWELS PROVIDED. As we are no longer under Covid restrictions would you not understand the surprise then disappointment that many have experienced upon arriving at their destination, like a motel, hotel, B&B, etc., and finding no linen or towels. I disagree with Customer Service, they could have done more. The reviews are correct, customer service is kind at first but then they don’t follow up on the complaint. I will continue to enjoy Porteau Cove for swimming but will never stay, nor recommend Olympic Legacy Cabins.

It was a great experience. Cabin was perfect. The ladder to the loft was so steep so I stayed in the room on the ground floor. My only complaints was the sea lions were loud so sleep didn't happen. I was supposed to stay 2 nights but ended up leaving after the first night.

So this weekend I found myself staying at these quaint cabins in Porteau Cove, which are typically booked year around. With both cabins side by side (sharing a court yard)it was perfect for two families of four to spend some time together. With great hiking areas and lots of local attractions (shout out to the Britannia mining museum) its a great escape from the city with a minimal drive.
So why only 4 stars.... the cabins are small, stuffy and awkward to live in but so long as you out and about for most of the time it's not to big of a deal. I also found the website very limited in information like you should know in advance that the bathroom has only a small shower stall. (See picture).
In closing i would recommend these cabins during warmer weather and be sure to ask all your questions up front. Keep in mind for the price you pay to rent the cabin (minimum 2 nights stay) there is a really nice resort near by offering similar rates but it's definitely not ocean front.

We stayed in the south cabin for two nights, and enjoyed the peaceful ocean views and surroundings. We swam in Howe Sound (the ocean, at the beach near where the scuba divers enter. |These cabins are well constructed by Pioneer Log Homes, if you’ve watched the Timber Kings show, it’s the same company. |They are not too wheelchair or handicapped accessible. Bunk bed on main floor would be, but doors and washroom not so much. The ladder going up to the queen bed loft is rather upright so anyone with a height aversion would cringe. |The kitchen did the trick with just enough stuff.|Overall it was a nice break from home, but there’s not much to do on site, so we walked around the campground and just explored the shore line. It’s a quick launch point to Squamish for hiking and outdoors activities. |One key piece of information to be aware of, is the 2am train. Came both nights, first night horns and bells blaring, startled us awake. Second night the conductor was a bit more civilized and only tooted the horn a short blast. Made for some broken sleep for the whole cabin/ neighbouring campground.

We reserved a year in advance and we’re excited for our stay. The views and water front access waa amazing, however… our cabin was full of mice poop and had our food eaten by mice all night… we left early… not a pleasant stay at all.

Worth every dollar!!! We will be rebooking our next trip.
Positives: the views are absolutely amazing, your only steps away from the ocean. It's quiet and secluded even though the close proximity to the highway and train tracks.
Negatives: Ladder to the loft bed can be tricky and for able-bodied people only. No fire pit, needed to rent a expensive propane fire ring at the cabins which lacks the true fire luster.

This is our second trip to Porteau Cove Cabin. Last time was uneventful and the location was generally beautiful so we booked again.

When we booked we signed rental contract which stipulated that bedding, linens, towel, TV would be included. They unilaterally took away everything. No pillows, no sheets, no towels, and no TV. And they unilaterally changed our checkin-checkout time without any notice. They claim they emailed us but when asked could not provide any evidence of doing so.

This is a breach of contract pure and simple. When we contacted them to address this deficiency they stalled and waited till after our scheduled departure time to even respond. Then they claimed that "we stayed" therefore were not entitled to a refund.

Had to contact VISA for a dispute to get money back. Ridiculous.

The location is amazing though. Minus the train noise at night but you need to expect this. Also expect critters in your room. Twice now there has been a rodent in our cabin. I want to say squirrel instead of mice but honestly, we are not sure. All we found were food with teeth marks in them.

I have no complaints of Porteau Cove as a park location. It is beautiful day and night but the operators of the cabins leave a lot to be desired. Will not book here again.
