This is a small cozy diamond in the rough. If the tofu curry I had was anyone's first experience with tofu, I think they'd love tofu in general. The prices are very affordable, and I really appreciated the vegan options on the menu. I also had a delicious smoothie made with fresh ingredients right before me. The service was super friendly and energetic. I would go back for the service, and stay for the food!

My husband and I were passing through Durham on our way to a camping trip and needed a lunch stop. We chose Rocky Raccoon Cafe and I’m very glad we did! The food was delicious and nourishing, and the chef/server Robin was so friendly! The place has a charming and cozy feel - much like dining at a friend’s house. It’s great to be able to find vegetarian options while travelling, and next time we’re passing through Durham we will be sure to visit again!

Wow!! Robin is a fantastic chef. He's passionate about preparing REAL food that tastes great and honours life (vegan). The food was fresh and I was served a very hearty quantity. The flavors were exotic - primarily from Nepal with influences from all over - and delicious. If you have any food sensitivities or intolerances, he'll modify dishes to suit and is careful to avoid cross contamination.
This little restaurant is a gem in Durham! It's more suited to Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal, if you ask me, but he's chosen Durham. Ask him why - he's got a story to tell which will explain not just his location but also him and his food!

Such a sweet little gem. Owner was so friendly and kind, food was absolutely delicious and portions were generous. The curry was so good and full of flavour. Would absolutely go back. Reasonably priced too!

What a fantastic discovery! This food is amazingly delicious, prepared and served with friendliness by the owner who obviously has extensive experience in culinary arts. Each dish is s taste sensation created with fresh ingredients and flavoured with exquisite seasoning perfection. Truly “global cuisine.” If you live elsewhere, it’s worth the trip to Durham!

What’s not to love about this cozy, delicious-every-time, best kept secret in Durham? The owner, Robin, always goes above and beyond. The food is freshly made, with a focus on a lot of local ingredients, and is also affordable (!). Try the samosas with the daily curry (never had the same one twice yet!). So good!!!

I cant say enough good things about the Rocky Raccoon Cafe and the owner Robin. I just opened a business a few doors down from him and thought I would give his food a try and I am so happy I did! Robins passion and charm is just as wonderful as the food. 5 stars all the way for this little hidden gem in Durham.

The most amazing vegetarian food, in a truly unexpected location. I have always loved Rocky Raccoon in their Owen Sound location, so I was pleasantly shocked when they moved to Durham.

A daily selection of two house made vegetarian curries, house made samosas, a rotating variety of black bean and lentil wraps, and incredible light, fluffy rice, dressed with shaved coconut, black sesame, and fresh spring onion. Added bonus for the chai and other sides also on offer. Everything is fresh made daily, with a variety of spice levels suitable for all palates.

Don't let the fact that it is vegetarian dissuade you if you are a meat eater, as this is stellar curry no matter if you usually are a meat first diner. Drop in if you are driving north on Highway 6 enroute to the Peninsula or Sauble Beach, and show them some love.
