Nous avions réservé deux chambres pour une nuit. nous avons eu du retard à l'arrivée à Montréal (avion = 2h), mais le propriétaire n'a jamais pris en compte la réservation malgré le sms de confirmation que nous avions reçu: il n'a prévenu personne que nous avions cette réservation, la personne sur place n'était pas informée, n'avait pas les clefs. De plus malgré de nombreux appels, il n'a jamais répondu à nos sollicitations. Nous ne recommandons pas cette personne pour son manque clair de sérieux et de professionnalisme. Aucun avis sur le logement.

Honteux, réservation prise mais non respectée. Aucun gérant sur place et ne répond pas au téléphone le soir de la réservation. Nous nous sommes retrouvés sans logement et sans solution au dernier moment. Honteux aucun professionalisme.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Check the pictures and you will know why!
We needed to run away after 10 minutes of staying in the room and book last minute another place. I’ve never seen so many bugs coming out from the bed and from the walls.
Refund? Not possible and now I know why.
REMEMBER BATHROOM IS SHARED.
This place has no rights to call itself “Hostel” neither “Hotel”. It’s an INSULT to these two words!

I don’t really know how to start describing the place, the pictures online are old and when it was clean only for taking them.
If you want to save your health and don’t be sick, DON’T GO! Save your money for better hostels.
Initially we booked a “suite” and when we arrived we got a single room. The rooms are much smaller than as shown on the pictures.

Edit after hostel management reply:
Sir, the best you can help us is to give us a refund! We found bugs on our clothes after we left. When we came out 10 minutes after we arrived there wasn’t anyone at the desk to help us. If the bugs are summer bugs, what about the dirt under the bed and dirty bedsheets?
Summer bugs? Why we don’t see any bugs anywhere else. PLEASE, instead of giving excuses, take better care of your facility and post accurate pictures of the place. And just to be accurate, we were in 2 people and we paid $276.

We was visit gîte king hostel me and my friend , we didn’t see something very worse , everything was cleaned, the owner was polite and flexible , we see some bugs was in room but it was probably about hot temperatures session , but the next day the owner invited some exterminator company to clean up our room and then we near see that any more , I was happy to visit king hostel and I will be back in Montreal again

Our three nights stay here was a wonderful stay. This is a "gite", a form of accomodation better known in France (see wikipedia). It is like a B&B but breakfast may be self-catering rather than served. Because we were the only guests, the owner served us breakfast but said that during busy season they normally put the food on the counter and guests serve themselves.

We were greeted at the door by the owner, a friendly man who speaks five languages. Accomodation is upstairs where there is a large common room with a huge television and comfortable furniture. Bedrooms and the bathroom are all accessed from that common room. Our room was small but had a small refrigerator, our own television, free wifi, a comfy bed, wardrobe, bedside table and alarm clock.. We spent some time reading in the common room. The bedroom locked with a key.

Breakfast was offered between 8 and 11 am in a dining area on the main floor. Food was excellent. The first day we had fried eggs, second day we had crêpes, and the third day an omelette. There was bread/toast, croissants, yoghurt, fresh fruit (apple, banana, orange), fruit juice, tea and instant coffee. The only improvement I could suggest is adding a coffee machine, (e.g. a drip or pod machine).

The owner lives on the main floor and basement with his wife and young daughter. Although there is some parking provided by the gite, we found plenty of free parking on the street. At night the door is locked but we could enter any time using a code for the electronic lock.

This is not like some of the higher priced B&Bs that I have stayed at where the accomodation and food is luxurious. This is comfortable, clean, basic accomodation at a great price. I would stay here again.
