A Must-Stop in Sylvan Lake!

Stopped in for lunch and had an incredible experience at Rusty Kate Smokehouse & Grill. The Brisket Sandwich and Chicken Fajitas were both tender, full of flavour, and absolutely delicious. The coleslaw stood out too—fresh, tangy, and bursting with taste.

Washed it all down with a cold local brew from Snake Lake Brewing Company. The patio vibe was awesome: laid-back, lively, and just what you want on a warm day by the lake.

Top-notch food, service, cold beer, and a great atmosphere!

We stopped in here on the weekend when the sun was hot and bright. Decided to sit on the patio overlooking "the strip". I haven't had great BBQ since I left Langley. I'm telling you if want out of this world BBQ ...you gotta eat here (sorry Langley)!!!! The portions were huge...and this is coming from a hefty guy #dadbod lol. Great food and service and can't beat that view!

Okay do this is the place to go for bbq. Better than any place in Edmonton. That’s for sure!
The wait was painful though. We waited 45 minutes for our food but well worth it. She had the pulled pork and I had the beef brisket. To die for! Perfectly tender and good amount of smoke. Nice seasoning and sauce choices. The fattiness of the brisket just explodes in your mouth and is just an experience you need to well… experience lol! It’s so good! Mac & cheese, baked beans and cornbread were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Love the beans. Wish I had gotten some burnt ends to take home for the next day because I was still craving when I got back to Edmonton. Next time. Go here! You won’t be disappointed. Just be prepared to wait a bit.

This is a must eat spot when you're in the area. The service was awesome and the food was amazing. makes me wish i lived closer as i would be going there very often. pricing is great for what you get. looking at the pictures makes me want more now. Enjoy

This place is a jewel in central Alberta, definitely the best Texas style BBQ restaurant around, you would have to drive 1.5-2 hrs to find the closest thing in Calgary.

I ordered the Texas Twinkies, burnt ends and brisket dinner plate, with chips, Mac and cheese and baked beans as sides. Everything was delicious, the Texas Twinkies were amazing the jalapenos were not too hot, the cream cheese filling very tasty and the bacon was crispy and pleasantly smoked. The burnt ends were tender, fatty and not lathered with BBQ sauce, those are served as they cut them from the whole piece.

The dinner plate was plentiful, it looked like a lot of brisket for half of pound. The chips were awesome, crispy and not oily or soggy, I took some home and I reheated them in the air fryer again, they were still great. I loved that the mac n cheese sauce was made out of actual cheese and not just the yellow processed cheese sauce. The baked beans very well seasoned and a bit spicy which I loved.

Overall I definitely recommend this place, I wish you the best and hope that you succeed and grow as central Alberta need more foodie spots.

Our group of 4 went Thursday night. The food was delicious and large portions. Started with the Texas Twinkies (amazing flavour & the spice/smoke combo was perfect), then chicken fajitas (delicious!!) and finished by sharing the cinnamon bun.. honestly the best I’ve ever had.. Thanks to Kaylee our server who was attentive and so sweet. Great atmosphere and location. I’ll be back.

Amazing food and service! They know what they’re doing with the smoker! Tender brisket and juicy smoked chicken, the broccoli and baked potatoes were my fav! And you have to try the house made cinnamon buns!! Bonus that the carry Snake Lake on tap!! 100/10

The food...oh my goodness! So tasty! Great portion sizes so filling and you can really taste the quality and effort they put into each dish.
I am obsessed with the Texas twinkies!
The price point is really great too! Taco Tuesday is spectacular!

I will definitely be a returning customer and recommend stopping in if your ever in sylvan lake!
