Salt and Peppers Pizza - Powell River, BC

Me and 5 of my friends were 3 cars short of making it on to the ferry in Saltery Bay (heartbreaking) and really hungry but couldn’t leave our spot in the queue. These guys delivered us pizza to the ferry terminal no problem, and the pepperoni pizza in particular was super high quality. It’ll be a few years before I’m back in the area but next time I’ll actually stop in for pizza here for sure 🙂 thanks again!

First time trying Salt And Pepper Pizzeria and we will be back! Ordered French Fries and their Perfect Pesto Pizza. Arrived at the Saltery Bay terminal and after one slice of yummy pizza each we wish we had ordered a bigger pizza..
We will definitely be back. Fries were great too. Extremely friendly service.

Such crap service. Put in an order and we were told 30 minutes. Okay no problem, she said they're closing at 8 but would have plenty of time to make our single pizza. We're trying to get up to a campsite and set up but agreed to wait. 40 minutes of sitting in the parking lot and we go in to check and they're all standing around watching the Oilers game and when we're asking if our order is ready everyone is clueless and has no idea, calling out to each other and nobody knows, turns out they haven't even made it yet. There's only one other table in there, we had seen only 2 delivery orders go out, what the heck are you guys doing She told us it would be another 20-30 minutes and we couldn't wait any longer so we left. Not even a simple apology or anything that showed they cared. Never been there before, definitely won't be going again. They're too busy sitting around watching hockey to make a bloody pizza apparently.

EDIT after owner's response: genuinely confused about whether the person writing this was there that night? Staff absolutely WAS watching hockey, they were cheering when the Oilers scored when we walked in after 40 minutes to ask if the order was ready. 2 employees were standing outside of the kitchen in front of the TV and discussing the goal with the kitchen staff through the pass through window. Maybe they were only out there cheering for the goal, but the fact was there *was* only one other table and again, only 2 orders went out for delivery so it couldn't have been that busy. We were sitting in the parking lot the whole time so the owner saying it was busy is completely false. The front reception had no idea if our order had even been started and confusion from the kitchen saying multiple "I don't know"s were heard by both my husband and I, followed by a confirmed no it had not. Reception then DID say unapologetically it'd be another 20-30 minutes as the pizza had not been started yet and would need to be prepped and cooked. We got the impression the order had been forgotten entirely. We were trying to get to a fcfs campsite to settle in for the night so I turned to my husband and said we can't be waiting any longer than we already have as that would put us at sitting in the parking lot for well over an hour total, and I then turned and walked out while he told them to go ahead and cancel our order. Nobody was rude, unless you're counting my complete silence when leaving as such, because I didn't say a single word to the woman at the desk. Believe me, if I would have been rude or "hostile" you'd have known it. This owner's weirdly aggressive response with bs lies and putting the blame on me further assures me that this place is not one to be bothering with and hopefully this review will help others make their own decisions. I think they just forgot our order altogether and are inventing reasons to shift the blame. It's not a huge deal, they're just disorganized. Maybe the pizza is amazing?! But I'm fine not knowing.

We got there at 7:20 and were told it would be half an hour to make a pizza. There were very few customers in there already.

46 minutes later, after waiting for them to call us to come get it, we walk in and all the staff is standing there watching the playoff game. They said they hadn't even started the pizza, and it would be another half hour. So we left.

Horrible service, didn't even feel bad. I will not be returning.

Edit: in reply to the owner's response, that isn't true at all. We were told it would be half an hour, waited in our truck, and 45 or so minutes later after not being called back in we came in to see all staff watching the Oilers vs Panthers game. It was directly after the Oilers tied it to bring it to overtime, so everyone was excited and cheering. We were told that the fries were ready but the pizza hadn't even been started. I don't appreciate your rude response, and hope this edit is easier for you to read and understand.

We ordered for delivery and the owner delivered the pizza. Great service! The pizza was delicious! Definitely will be a repeat customer!

If i had to describe this pizza place in one word, it would be authentic. Not in the way that the ingredients where specially imported from italy and of the highest caliber — but in the sense that the work and craft going on here is real.

while it may not have the most perfect decorations, or world class pizzas, it has an atmosphere that you cannot find any where else in the world all thanks to the owner. So if your looking to eat around powell river, give salt and pepper pizza a chance and support the man behind it.

Perfect place for a road trip or bike trip ‘za, wings and good company. The staff are wonderful and the food truly hit the spot after a day of adventures on the coast.

Stopped by after getting off the ferry and found this place. Ordered their donair pizza myself and wife loved it.
