This is a Two-Bit review of the Sandbar Café, Qualicum Bay, British Columbia.

The Good:
Great breakfast and a very diverse menu,
Apparently the other meals are as good,
Awesome little patio for eating outside,
The service was excellent,
Prices we quite good as well,

The Bad:
Not too many bads
It was very busy, but that is to be expected when you have a good reputation

Conclusion:
Good food, good service, good location

Great traditional breakfast Poached eggs done perfectly, sourdough toast lightly toasted, bacon very meaty (hardly any fat!!-want to know where they get their bacon!), potato wedges for hashbrowns. Nice view.

WONDERFUL place! Had fresh crab and shrimp Eggs Benedict - delicious!! Great ambience. Quaint and welcoming. Great staff - super friendly and attentive. Coffee was also delicious - a big plus for me!

We recently moved to Fanny Bay from Victoria and are so happy to have found this spot! I've been there 5 times already. Fresh, delicious food. Excellent friendly service. And the lovely local art on the walls is the icing on the cake!

We recently had an outstanding dining experience at the Sandbar Restaurant and Art Gallery near Qualicum Beach, British Columbia.

Our family gathering of seven was exceptionally pleased with the amazing dinners we received. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere and the artistic decor set the tone for a memorable evening.

Our waitress, Brook, was phenomenal. Her friendly and attentive service made us feel right at home. She was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations.

I had coconut mussels, as suggested by Brook, which were perfectly cooked and flavorful. For our other main courses, we enjoyed the oyster dinner and the oyster burger, both of which were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented.

The unique combination of dining and art added a special touch to our experience. We enjoyed browsing the local artwork displayed throughout the gallery, which created a charming and culturally enriching ambiance.

Overall, Sandbar Restaurant and Art Gallery exceeded our expectations with its delicious food, exceptional service from Brook, and a unique atmosphere. It's a must-visit spot near Qualicum Beach, and we highly recommend it!

I came to get breakfast with my mom and it seemed like things were a little chaotic due to them being short-staffed. Apparently they had one cook and were also down a person out front, and I felt pretty terrible for everyone working on a 28° Sunday without enough help! I am writing this review, though, to say that the staff were incredibly kind and efficient in every other way. When our food did finally arrive, it was piping hot and easily the best breakfast sausage I’ve ever had! Thank you for the good experience, I hope in the future management would close a section or form a wait list to make their staff’s lives easier instead of seating more people than one cook can provide for:)

This is the epitome of delightful road side discoveries. I popped in here on a road trip up to Courtenay by chance because I was starving and it was the closest thing nearby and it was such a happy accident. Sandbar is adorable: filled with eccentric local artwork and lacking in any kind of modern aesthetic makeover, you can tell the food is going to be great the second you walk in. We sat on the patio with a perfect unobstructed view of the ocean and was served by the friendliest server I’ve had in recent memory. The food was great and the coffee was decent. If you’re on your way up island and passing through the area, I highly recommend you divert off the big highway to check out the senic route and stop here for a bite!
