Probably the best B&B we have stayed in on our travels. Michaela welcomes you into her home and treats you as an honoured guest. The room was very comfortable and the views of the mountains and glacier from the room and the gardens were stunning. Very comfortable guest living room with free tea and coffee and a tv. Breakfasts were out of this world. In fact on the day we left we did not need to eat again until the evening.

The location of Silvern Lake is STUNNING. Nestled in the woods, with a mountain and glacier view - and the service was absolutely outstanding! Michaela went out of her way to accommodate our needs for breakfast, even preparing two completely different breakfasts for myself and my husband - and both were simply excellent!

However, we did have a couple of issues with this B&B. First of all, all of the rooms are on the lower level of the main house. So all of the noise from upstairs transfers through the floor to downstairs. My husband and I are super-early-morning people and like going to bed early, so we were kept awake by the walking around upstairs.

Secondly, the "private bathroom" connects to a shared hallway. There are 3 bedrooms in the B&B and only 2 bathrooms. Only one of the rooms (the one we had, can't remember the name of it) has a connecting bathroom which, as I said, also connects to the hallway. You could lock the door from the hallway - but this implied that that bathroom was to be shared with others, making it not-so-private. It worked for us because we were the only guests at the house.

Third, the shared living space connects to the room we were in. That would make that room pretty noisy if there were other rooms occupied at the same time.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay with Michaela and Helmut and we recommend their B&B, with the above caveats. It could be a fun time if a bunch of friends were occupying all 3 rooms.

I stayed here for two nights with my partner as a little getaway from home for the long weekend. He did all the planning and bookings as a surprise, and he found a great little place. Hosts were super welcoming and friendly, and both breakfasts were absolutely delicious (waffles our first morning and eggs benny the next!). Our room was the Glacier Room, which did have a stunning view of the Twin Sister peaks and the glacier, however the room is a touch small for two people (especially with my partner over 6'3"). But we had a great sleep and definitely enjoyed the small living area at the end of the hall that had couches we could stretch out on (+ cookies!!). A good little find and definitely felt like a better getaway place than a hotel. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a more of a personalized stay and space away from a lot of people.

Beautiful and serene setting with a cozy room! I'm a local - you won't get a quieter place with a closer view of the glacier anywhere in the valley. Just a 10-minute drive from Smithers. Brand new hot tub! Hearty breakfast with great coffee and tea. Evening cupcakes a nice surprise! Thanks much for a great stay.

A cozy place to stay close to the glacier and silvern lake. The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. The glacier view room where we stayed was excellent with an amazing view of the mountain side and glacier right from the window. The area surrounding the place is ripe with great walking adventures as it is a ways away from the highway and any main street. The breakfasts were delicious and very well made (my compliments to the chef) and the guest room is a nice place to lounge and converse with the other guests. The information pamphlets there are great to figure out the lay of the surroundings. And the coffee/tea/ home made cookies are a delight! Overall a great recommendation of a place reasonably close to Smithers yet still away from the bustle, a real hidden gem.

We had an excellent stay at Silvern Lake Trail B & B! The B & B and our room was very clean and comfortable. The guest lounge was well appointed with snacks, tea, coffee, fridge, microwave, and bottled water. We had a stunning view of mountain and glacier from our room. Breakfast was excellent, we'll certainly stay again the next time we're through.
