I really liked the atmosphere—it’s a great place for a date or hanging out with friends. The taste varies depending on the menu. Since it’s not oyster season, we couldn’t try those, but today, we had the lobster soup, chop chop seafood salad, cheeseburger, and lobster roll. Overall, everything was tasty. The cheeseburger was definitely the highlight of the meal. As for the lobster roll, the bread was quite thick, so if you’re on a diet, you might want to skip it.
I’d love to come back again when it’s oyster season.

We came in today before closing for my birthday around 8:30pm and the blonde girly server was amazing! She was kind and attentive! The food was okay.. its just the fries wasn't the best but so far i enjoyed it! and yes i did this review just for her cause she deserves it!

We had an amazing experience at S+L Langley! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming and stylish, perfect for our group dinner. Our server, Ben, was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and handled our group like a pro. We were in BC for a fireplace conference (side note: the fireplaces could use an update), but that’s a minor detail in an otherwise flawless evening. Definitely five stars all around. We’ll be back next time we’re in town!

update July 2025: great visit, excellent service from Ana. Menu has changed - the salmon bowl was excellent, with perfectly cooked salmon with a delish sauce (wish there was a bit more!). Chicken bowl was a bit dry, but otherwise tasty. Will definitely be back.
July 2024: Very stylish interior, large space. Disappointed that they were out of several beers on tap. Steelhead was properly cooked but looked pretty much the same as a 'bowl' (which it wasn't) - expected more presentation and substance for $42. Chicken bowl was good.

First time visiting this place, and we did not enjoy the food for the most part. We ordered bao buns and a bowl. Buns for the bao were soggy and not even close to real bao buns in the taste. Regarding the bowl, lemon grass chicken was made with very little sauce and dry. We asked the server to give as some additional sauce, and that was charged in the end when we received the bill for almost 2 teaspoons of additional sauce. I don't think we would go back here again.

The food in 1st and 2nd pictures are really good, others are just so so, especially for the wagyu sandwich, it was too salty that we had to drink heaps of water…

Well, I’m torn about this review. On one hand, the flavours and ingredients were both excellent quality and the flavours were great. I had the Harvest Chicken for a whopping $35.75!!!!!!!! (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (p.s. !!!!!).

The sauce and vegetables were cooked to perfection. The chicken was rubber and pretty flavourless, but it was takeout, so this is more or less forgiven.

What is not forgivable is 8 measly pieces of Gnocchi for almost $40!!! What is this, a restaurant for rich ants? You’d think gnocchi is made out of gold, instead of potato and flour - are we enacting preemptive tariffs against our own? That’s how this dish felt.

Truly pathetic, although I would try it again in person, DO NOT ORDER OUT HERE, unless you like incinerating your money and supporting established (and what is turning itself to a chain) restaurants.

If the portions were better on the gnocchi, and the chicken wasn’t modelled after the texture of a hockey puck, this restaurant has all the hallmarks of a 4 or 5 star restaurant.

Unfortunately I am not a royalty ant, and prefer to enjoy my chicken, not gnaw on it, so it’s a no from me. Save your money if you’re considering ordering out. Wish I could take my tip back!

Edit - waiting for JRGs generic reply - maybe just change the menu and have some pride instead of peddling apologies? If you ran the restaurant well, you wouldn’t have to say sorry 🤷 That seems like the more logical solution.
