Great food, unfortunately my croissants were way too old and not eatable. The cookies were perfect. The fruits and. Vegetables are fresh. There are a lot of different products available. The parking lot has a good size.

Early Years (1907-1920s):

J.W. Sobey started a meat delivery business in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, using a horse-drawn wagon. He expanded to include local vegetables, dairy, and fish products, and later oats, hay, and other animal feed, kerosene, and staple food products.

Expansion and Modernization (1930s-1960s):

Frank H. Sobey, J.W.'s son, persuaded his father to expand the business into a full-line grocery store. By the 1930s, Sobeys had six stores in Pictou County and surrounding areas. In 1947, Frank Sobey opened the first modern Sobeys supermarket in Atlantic Canada, eager to join the latest revolution in food distribution.

Family Business and Growth (1970s-Present):

Frank's sons, Bill, David, and Donald, became active in the company as Sobeys continued to expand through Atlantic Canada. In 1971, Frank's sons took over the management of the company, with Bill as president, David as executive vice president, and Donald heading up the growing investment company, Empire Inc.

It is a very good grocery store with a good inventory. I have found some baking items and cheeses here that I could not find at some other stores nearby. I must mention the impressive houseplant selection available right by the doors.! You can use your Scene card here too.

Best Sobeys around, extremely friendly staff unlike Barrington and always willing to go the extra distance to ensure you have exactly what you went in for..the meat and seafood department are truly outstanding!!!...other stores should take training from this stores employees...The manager Colin should be very proud...he too is extremely helpful and goes out of his way to make your shopping experience great!
