ABSOLUTE DIVE! Building is old, filthy inside and out, cigarette butts and garbage all over outside, curtains filthy didn't want to touch them they felt slimy, old dirty linens with BED BUGS!!! No towels or shampoo or conditioner or soap, refrigerator and microwave were ancient and noisy, rugs were terrible - stained and not even vacuumed properly, old nightstand and desk that were falling apart, NO LIGHT on the nightstand so had to get out of bed to turn off main light, main light is two old light bulbs on the wall for the entire room that was dark and dingey, No Smoking signs and yet the place smelled of years old nicotine, TV looked nice and had ONE CHANNEL - innkeeper would not fix the cable converter which was the problem, wouldn't matter as the remote did not work either. Air conditioner was FILTHY and YEARS OLD and what a racket it made! Blew in moldy air. And speaking of mold, tons of it in the shower. The worst - SMOKE DETECTOR DID NOT WORK - we checked and there were NO BATTERIES!!! NOT ONLY A DIVE BUT A FIRE TRAP!! Did I mention the DRUG DEALERS coming and going all night? The owner was very rude and condescening and we were very overcharged - $89/night for a tiny tiny room with an old double bed that sagged. This place should have been torn down YEARS ago! How does the authorities let a business like this stay in business? We got out of there after one night and went up the road and found a Super8. Same money - NICE HOTEL and FREE BREAKFAST!! Just the way a motel/hotel should be. And the staff were very nice unlike the rude China lady at this Star, a POOR EXCUSE for accommodation. Just don't stay here!

I'm a local. I have never stayed at this hotel and never will. I would rather sleep outside. Just don't.

Met our needs, place to sleep. Room was depressing due to dark paint and carpet colors. Good thing was clean. Was a noticeable unpleasant oder when checked in, but leaving window open for number of hours (we were downtown) cleaned up problem. Was OK, cheap and were not at room for extended time. Last place would rent if had alternative.

So many wrong things...|Door isn't sealed at the bottom so bugs get in.|Damp moldy smell.|Incredibly tiny bathtub/shower with old shower curtian that clearly has never been changed.|Hot water takes five minutes before reaching the room.|Tiny TV.|Mold on the seals of the bathroom floor, not professionally installed bathrooms. |Ceiling tiles look like they will fall any second. |Under the bed has never been vacuumed. |Carpet floor is gross and damn to walk on. |Don't recommend staying here even for a night. |Bottom line is that the Chinese owners are cheap and doesn't care about their reputation. |

So I always read the reviews before I book rooms. Not sure where all the previous reviews stayed at because the room was not worth the money at all. As a matter of fact I have stayed at way cheaper hotels and had a better room. We were glad we were only here to watch hockey games in a nearby town because there definitely was not room for 3 people to get ready for something nice like a wedding or formal party. I have NEVER seen a bathroom this small in a hotel before. The room smelled old and musty. I booked the family suite and that was definitely not what we got according to the picture. I didn't question or argue as we were really tired of driving when we arrived. The only plus was that it was warm and had heat. We will definitely try other properties before ever staying here again. Big disappointment......|

After reading the reviews I was questioning my choice to stay here. Due to the pipeline construction in the area it’s is very difficult to find a room in the Morden area. |I was pleasantly surprised to find that the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom is tiny so if you’re obese I would look elsewhere. ||The only negative was that the smoke detector was missing its battery.

Came to Morden for the festival and had no choice but to stay here as everything else was booked in the area. Stayed for 3 nights. Room was dirty when we arrived and never cleaned while we were there. Garbage can was overflowing by the time we left. Small bar fridge was so dirty inside that we wouldn't even put canned drinks in it. There were dead flies everywhere which tells me that the place hadn't been vacuumed or dusted in ages. We left our clothes in the car because we didn't want to set them down on anything. $90 a night before taxes & fees is way too much for this place. I understand that it is an older motel and not as modern and up to date as the big chains but there is no excuse for the total lack of cleanliness. I couldn't wait to get out of there.

I wanted to save a few dollars and checked into this motel. I have never seen such a run down room, everything was dirty, dusty and the room stunk. The next day I checked out directly. Can't recommend anyone to stay here, better spend more money and sleep in a clean room.
