We went to Steel City for dinner while travelling to Sydney because there weren’t many other restaurants open at 9pm. My husband ordered a burger and waffle fries and he said that both were phenomenal, but my salad with chicken breast was pretty disappointing and it felt like my meal was thrown together in a hurry with whatever bland piece of chicken they had “available” and it wasn’t worth the extra fee to add it to my meal. I can’t say I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for a meal on the “healthier” side, but their other food was tasty - especially the waffle fries.

As for the service, it was a bit weird. We were told to “sit anywhere”, so we chose a seat and ordered drinks while checking out the food menu - when the bartender brought over the drinks we were told we had to settle that tab immediately because we were sitting in the bar section (unbeknownst to us since the whole restaurant is one big room) and we were told we couldn’t have our drinks on the same tab as our food tab. This was a bit weird and confusing since the bartender told us to sit wherever we wanted.

For the record, the staff were friendly, it was just a confusing and slightly frustrating situation to have to pay multiple tabs instead of just one.

We had a delicious family meal here last night. Everyone loved their food - wings, hot turkey sandwiches, deep fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, clubhouse platter and fish/chips. My fish was very tasty and fresh. Tartar sauce seemed to be homemade and was also delicious. The gravy was nice and light but very flavorful. Our server, Karen, was the sweetest woman ever! Overall, this is a classic pub food location right in the heart of Sydney. Very close to C200. Would make a great place to stop and eat before an Eagles game.

What a great find! If you want great food and incredibly attentive and awesome service then come to this place. We are from Edmonton and wanted a place to watch the hockey game. What a great experience. Highly welcome. Such a great find!!!

Great spot to get an always great meal with consistency 👌
The regulars are a good bunch and the chicken wings 🪽 are yummy. The Lemon salt and pepper wings are really nice and with a hot sauce on the side, they're delicious 😋
Parking can sometimes be an issue when the special, like corned beef and cabbage, might require Parking on a side street but the food and cold beer is worth it👍
In the summer, the patio is really nice too.
