Ended up staying here last minute. The from desk staff was nice but beyond that there wasn't much else redeeming. The bed in the room was hard as a rock, even my toddler tossed and turned from how uncomfortable it was. You could hear people fighting in another room. Someone was pounding on a neighboring door at 3am and yelling, keeping both me and my husband awake.
The room itself was pretty clean so I'm willing to give 2 stars for that as it technically is a clean room to sleep in for the night, if you can fall asleep on that mattress.
The shower sucks though, no water pressure, have to turn the hot on almost all the way for it to get the water warm.
I honestly wouldn't recommend this hotel though. 2/5 and it's only cause the staff was nice and the room was clean.

The lady at the front desk was super sweet. Unfortunately the hotel itself was awful. For the amount of money they charge per night We checked in, we were very hesitant at doing even that.. we thought how bad could it be. Two steps off the elevator and we checked back out. The floor we were booked to stay on smelled like burning tires.. The parking lot and adjacent areas were extremely run down and not safe at all. We booked off Expedia and it really did not look that bad.. but the pictures had to be touched up, because the reality of it was so horrible . Do not recommend at all.. not even for a laugh at Yuk Yuks 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is 100% the worst hotel room in ALL of Ft. McMurray. It is more comfortable to sleep directly on the floor. There is no pillow consistency. The room smells of mold. The Air conditioner won't stop cycling due to the fact the curtains are constantly being blown into and not the room. If this is your destination, stay home.

Bed was uncomfortable and loud. The security door just slams when used. The staff was nice. The room looked good minus the bed. House keeping was great at restocking what we were actually using for coffee. Would I stay there again most likely not after the sleep we had.

I stay here very often for very long periods, and my room is attended to every day.

Avoid this Hotel at all cost.||They bring in drunken natives and beggars. Right at the counter when I was checking in a drunken beggar was asking me for money. The next morning when I tried to get the Hotel breakfast, again beggars asking for money.||The breakfast was terrible, only toast and coffee and I walked out.||I stayed 5 nights because I booked through an online agency and had the room prepaid, otherwise I would have left. These drunks and beggars hang around the hotel and some sleep on the hotel grassy grounds right by the entrances. The entrances are very dirty with stains, cigarette buds and discarded cans and other rubbish. ||I did not allow anyone to make my room in 5 days because I did not trust the place; you will not feel safe here||Also don't be fooled by the pictures of the a nice bar and Yuk Yuks, all this is closed because they have no customers.||Quite sad that a hotel in a decent area of town brings in these bums and allows them to hang around the hotel.

1) Check in with reception was extremely unpleasant. I was asked to take my ID out of a case I had it in with my registration and insurance so she could scan my I.D. The way she asked me was as if I should know better. When I told her I did not feel comfortable having my I.D scanned she told me it was hotel policy. I asked to see the policy in writing. She then replied they could make an exception if I never felt comfortable. I then asked to speak with a manager and she told me one would call me shortly. Once I got a call from what I thought was the manger who identified himself as the manager and I explained the situation he said he was just I.T support for the hotel and he would send me a copy of the policy to my e-mail. Still waiting and nothing was sent to me.

2) Rooms smell bad and are outdated.

3) The breakfast is in the bar. Yes in the bar and served with out liquor. But there's lots to look at and the T.Vs are all on. Also they ran out of packets of peanut butter and did not restock by the time I left ? Packets of peanut butter🤔

4) The cleaning staff did not clean my room the first day and the excuse was my door tag was on an angle.

5) The cleaning staff start cleaning about 7:30 am in the morning so be prepared to listen to them scream at each other while they talk to each other. Be prepared to get a knock on your door before 8am to clean your room. I literally saw the cleaning lady using a bucket to clean the floors that was covered in dirt and grime from the boom days. If you look closely at some areas of this place you'll see grime and dirt that has not been clean since who knows when. I honestly believe they have a black mold problem as well.

6) The only reason they get a star is because you can't put zero and there maintenance staff was pleasant, professional and fun to talk to.

Do not reserve this hotel for the money you save. They make it out to be a great deal. It's not.
