I come this place because of kimchi but not anymore.. it used to be good.. it’s getting worse since they came back from their last vacation.. 저번에 왔을 때는 김치가 덜 익었었고 이번에는 김치가 거의 무르기 직전이네요… 예전에 참 알맞는 맛있는 김치만 나왔었는데 많이 아쉽네요 김치 때문에 왔는데 김치가 별로면 더 이상 올 이유는 없을 것 같아요

Update review 2025 August:
Worst service by the one server who is relatively new compared to the other two (even then it’s been a few years) When I Asked her to order she replied “is everyone else coming?” After I explained they are parking and ordered, she argued with me about missing saying something and asked to look at my message for the order and argued that the spicy squid bowl is not bibimbap and then accused me of not mentioning the pork bone soup when I asked to add it in. I will not come again because of her. If you don’t want to work please quit so we can dine in peace and maybe order in advance so when our guests arrive food is here to have.

I have been eating here since it opened so that was like more than 6 years ago. Best service amongst Korean places I’ve been around town. Best food selections. (I tried almost everything on the menu). They are very busy so please understand when you see one or two people working and they got tables to clean, do dishes and serve you. If you want good Korean food and good Canadian service, come here and TIP LOTS!

맛있다고 해서 친구 데리고 갔는데, 맛은 평타. 서비스는 정말 불쾌입니다.
단체손님들이 많아 어수선한 분위기에 의자도 부족한지 옆자리로 옮기겠냐해서 조용한 구석 테이블로 옮기겠다하니 (빈자리였지만 상이 치워지지 않았음) 언제 치울지 모른다며 . 단칼에 거절. 말투도 어찌나 칼칼한지. 말이라도 치우는데 시간이 조금 걸릴수 있는데 괜찮냐고 하면 아마 기분좋게 알겠다 했을거예요.
그냥 앉아있는데 때마침 단체 손님이 와서 붙일 테이블이 필요해지니 그제서야 치우고나서 자리 옮기겠냐고 물어보는 직원의 마인드는 손님 중심이 아니라 철저히 가게중심이네요.
가게 직원의 태도는 곧 사장의 마인드라고 생각합니다.
이제서 후기들을 보니 불친절 내용들이 심심치 않게 보이네요.
혹시 누구에게 대접해야하거나 기분좋은 식사를 해야하는 자리라면 고객응대 경험 복불복이니 추천드리고 싶지 않습니다.

So Disappointed – Rude Service Ruined My Favorite Spot

Tangmaru used to be one of my favorite summer spots for the cold noodles + pork cutlet combo. I’ve been coming here for years, but after today, I honestly don’t want to anymore.

The woman with glasses serving today was shockingly rude. Yes, I know this place gets busy and they’re short-staffed, but that’s not the customer’s problem. Before we even sat down, she snapped at us to write our order on the waiting list. Then she messed up the order, but we didn’t bother saying anything because we just wanted to get it over with.

We came as a group, but she only brought one small plate of kimchi for all of us and didn’t give us any side plates. The way she spoke and looked at us felt like she thought she was the owner — zero warmth, zero respect.

I’ve never felt like giving a tip was a waste until today. I still left one, but it’ll be my last here. Really sad to lose a place I used to love.

Great place to have Gamjatang 😍 too bad they close early for dinner (8:15pm). Food and service were good. Not my first time there, and I intend to go back again 😊 다음에 또 봐요.

The food is amazing, she clearly states that you should add your own salt and pepper because their ox soup wasn’t seasoned. I much prefer it that way, I get to determine how salty or not I personally like it. What’s there to complain about? The cutlets were crispy and delicious, a perfect meal.
