Terre Café - St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

I stopped into this café to get a coffee to go during our hop on hop off bus trip in St. John's. The shop was extremely busy resulting in a very long line for even a takeout coffee. Although the staff were friendly and helpful, it was obvious they were struggling to keep up with the demand, and there were numerous problems with their interact machine.

However, the quality of coffee was excellent and I definitely would return. There was no seating available at the time we were there, but again, to be fair, it was a very busy morning.

I would certainly recommend a visit to this café, perhaps at d an off peak time because the staff is certainly helpful and courteous and the coffee, excellent.

Awesome spot. Service was excellent and the food was perfect. Three of us ate there and we all enjoyed it. Everything from my espresso to my bread was wonderful. Room was well lit.

We were sat underneath a speaker which was a little annoying, but I guess someone has to.

Coffee was the best I’d had after a week of conferences on the east coast, but I was very disappointed in the $5 burnt croissant. I love a bien cuit pastry as much as the next person, but I think what must have happened is they underproofed and then tried to compensate by overbaking. Actually the customer behind me was warned and offered “2 for 1 since the croissants came out small today.” I wish I had been offered the same warning, I would have gotten something else. I couldn’t finish the croissant, particularly the ends which are usually my favorite, due to the acrid burnt flavor. Forget 2 for 1, I don’t think these should be sold if they are not up to the usual standard.

Absolutely love this place. I've stayed at the Alt, love it. But the Cafe, even if I'm not staying at the Alt, always stop in. My go to is the Red Pepper Breakfast Sandwich and a Latte. The Sandwich is so good, you won't find better. All their pastrys and other food items are great, but that sandwich..love it and if you catch St John's on a good day,sitting outside just makes for a great bite to eat and drink.

Loved my stop at Terre Café! The latte was smooth and perfectly made, and the chocolate chip cookie was warm, rich, and absolutely delicious. Cozy vibe, friendly staff, and quality treats, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Breakfast was amazing as usual! If you like grapefruit juice, go for a grapefruit mimosa. No dessert offerings which was disappointing. They're desserts are fantastic.

Delicious third wave coffee and perfectly located (inside the Alt hotel). Oatmeal cortado was on spot.

Very friendly and organized staff! The coffee and tea were spot on and the treats were fresh and tasty. The view of St. John's harbour is priceless! Definitely worth a visit!
