Late night eats success story!

Walked in after 8pm on a Sunday night during the off season. Kitchen was open. My friend went with the chicken fingers. Nothing special about them. Came out hot and fresh but it’s not like they were house breaded strips. As for the beef dip the bartender mentioned it’s one of the top sellers on the menu. A favorite if you will. I decided to go with the fan favorite. It didn’t disappoint. Dark au jus and very flavourful. The bun was crisp on the outside but soft on the inside with tender slices of beef. Very happy with my meal. I’d say the disappointment was the warm beer I was served initially. The bartender was new I’d assume? Not sure but weird to be served a Luke warm beer. I let him know my disappointment and he got me something else. It took longer than it should have since he was occupied with the other staff. All and all decent spot. I’ve heard it’s the place to be fri and sat night. Sun nothing was going on. Good for a hotel bar tho and great beef dip!

The service definitely needs improvement, especially if the goal is to encourage repeat customers. Our server didn’t appear welcoming—there were no smiles or warm greetings throughout our visit. Our food took almost an hour to arrive, and no one checked in to offer drink refills. We had to call the server ourselves just to receive basic service. The food was a bit salty but was served hot and still tasted good. I hope the service can be improved, as most of the staff were seated near our table, yet no one seemed interested in observing or responding to customer needs.

We had nachos and some drinks, and they were good. They were loaded with cheese and baked perfectly. The drinks were okay. My cocktails are more highball style, so I wasn’t enthusiastic about them. The only thing that wasn't very good was our server. She surely looked miserable but wasn’t very helpful.

Both my 2 recent visits (one lunch and one dinner) have been a 4.8! The burgers and fries are substantial and incredible value...It's the same price all day. No happy hour games. $16 for a burger and fries and $5 for pints of local lager or ale.

We came here for lunch on a mild Saturday. It wasn't too busy, but the service was atrocious. Over half an hour just to bring drinks, then over an hour long wait for food. The server never checked on us or updated us on the status of our food. They had multiple people working and as mentioned it wasn't very busy, the server kept walking past us without even looking in our direction. We had to eventually go ask someone if our food was actually ordered or what. We ended up being there for 2.5 hours to eat some burgers and have two rounds of drinks, just ridiculous. They are coasting on the location.

My experience at this bar couldn't be any better, the waitress was friendly and quick on serving drinks and snacks, and constantly checking our satisfaction over the food being served. The nachos and chicken wings were flavourful and plentiful. Maybe it's because it was lunch time on a weekday, but my review is solely based on my experience.

I would give the service a zero if I could. The atmosphere with live music was nice, and location is lovely. The food was below expectations- the fried pickles were disappointing and the wings were just ok. But we haven't had a server as rude, ineffective and miserable as Chay in a very long time. From the moment she walked up to our table, she was absolutely miserable, when she made a mistake with our order she blamed us - and sent another staff member over to insist we had forgotten what we ordered, did not come by to check on us (even after wiping a table next to us) and responded to a request for service with eye rolls. We are low maintenance guests (some work in restaurants too) and haven't experienced anything like it. We all have bad days, but this was something else.
