We were invited to a birthday party on Saturday evening, and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. I didn’t even know Calgary had an indoor beach! It’s a fantastic spot with soft sands, three beach volleyball courts, and a play area for kids.

Amazing and fun day! Yvonne did an excellent job at helping me organize my family&friends beach volleyball event. Yvonne was very responsive, helpful and a great communicator.

I included a game advisor for the little ones for my event, the children had a fun time!

The venue and washrooms are very clean and tidy. The sand on the courts are silky smooth, it felt great! My guests had a great time, there was enough picnic tables for food and to relax inbetween volleyball games.

I recommend this venue for those looking for large family&friends active activities.

It's an excellent place to have the kid's birthday party. It's fun for them to play in the sand, the staff it's friendly, and they have activities for the kids. Also suitable for playing sand volleyball indoors. There's no water. It's only a giant sandbox. Recommended.

The Beach YYC, is such a cool space. The only place in Calgary to do beach sports, even in the winter. So many cool programs for all ages. Be sure to check it out.

I had my son’s 2nd birthday here just this past weekend.
First, a huge shout out to the staff!!! They are sooo lovely.
We had about 40 people attend aged from 8 months- 70 years! The children had an AMAZING time.
The bouncy castle kept the toddlers occupied for 2 hours. The teenagers loved playing soccer and volleyball. The toys were a huge hit. The patio area fit us all perfectly.
I highly recommend this place for a child’s birthday party.

Booked theBeachYYC for my daughter's 9th birthday on the weekend. The area we were given was huge, more than enough space for the kids to play and four picnic tables for snacks and parents to sit at. Kids had an amazing time, no tears were shed whatsoever. The staff was incredibly helpful, provided everything we needed and checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly. Additionally - I love that we were able to bring snacks. They do have snacks available but we were not required to purchase them, which was a nice change from the terrible food at some of the play places.

Both of my kids have been begging to go back. I would give this place ten stars for a kids birthday party if I could 🙂

Cool and unique space! Pretty centrally located and plenty of parking outside. Went here for a friend’s birthday gathering on a Saturday afternoon - there was probably about 20 of us and we used 2 courts for a few games of volleyball and some Spike Ball, which they provide all the equipment for. There were a few tables for spectating and cubbies for your things just off the court. Was a little cold inside, but you warm up quickly as you start playing. The court area looked like it could use a bit more TLC in terms of finishing, but not a huge deal. Would love to go back again, as the staff at the front mentioned they do a kids free play a few times in the week.

When we arrived we were the only customers on the premises. We were told that there is a birthday party tomorrow but playing with the sand toys would be allowed. Odd-but okay.
We played on all the courts with the children and began playing with lawn darts and ladder ball. The attendant came out and rather than come speak to the adults decided to lecture the children that the adults can’t be playing with ladder ball and lawn darts as they are set up for tomorrow.

A) If you have a problem with what is happening - come talk to us, not the children and expect them to relay messages. B) we were playing with respect to the materials, not throwing them around wildly. To ask us, the only customers in the building, to not play with materials because you don’t want to clean it up later is pure laziness. The sand was not smoothed over and beautiful, it looked like all the other courts, walked on and used. Again, we were the only patrons in the building, and a party’s happening tomorrow-so between 12:30 pm today and tomorrow, you can’t tidy up?
We proceeded to clean up the space entirely for the lazy attendant and promptly left. Not somewhere to take children to play.
