Went here for a Father’s Day lunch. My Dad and husband and mom are picky AF and hate everything so never want to go out. This is one place I don’t have to fight to get them to go. The seating was comfy and a nice backdrop with the corona sign. Wait staff was friendly, quick, attentive. I had the pickle Caesar to drink and it was definitely “pickle-y “ exactly as expected..it was an average but tasty Caesar. We had the fried calamari for an appetizer. It was hot, crisp and not rubbery at all…seasoned nicely and came with dip. My husband got the Bison burger and said it was cooked perfectly not over cooked, fries were good, crispy. My mom got the beef dip sandwich and always complains about cheese on it but actually ate it and really enjoyed this sandwich. My sister had the chicken wrap and onion rings. The chicken was nice and moist, fresh veg inside. Onion rings were nice and crispy and not overly greasy. I had the grilled peach salad with a crab cake added. The salad was filled with fresh berries and a FRIED ball of goat cheese (I’m lactose intolerant and it was so worth it)
The crab cake was large fresh and crispy. Overall I’d recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Great staff and friendly service. The fish was okay but the batter was a bit thick so it was too doughy in the middle. The restaurant is nice with some good lake views, but the high ceiling makes it echo, so it seems noisy. Overall, it was okay, but I'm not in a hurry to rush back.

I was visiting friends who live nearby, and when we decided to get takeout for dinner, they immediately recommended The Boondocks Eatery as the best spot in the area — and it didn’t disappoint!

I ordered the Boondocks Burger with a side garden salad, and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. My friend had the Chicken Club with a gluten-free bun and really enjoyed it. I can’t quite remember what her fiancé ordered, but whatever it was, he was happy with it too!

The location is fantastic — right on the water. The patio was packed and looked like a beautiful place to sit and enjoy a meal by the lake. The only downside was the parking lot; it was completely full with no available spots when I came to pick up our order, so I had to wait in the car.

Overall, a great local spot with tasty food and an awesome waterfront setting. I’d definitely go back, and next time I’d love to dine on the patio!

Great spot for a meal by Lake Simcoe! The fish and chips here are fantastic — super fresh and perfectly crispy. I’ve attached a photo of my fish meal, but keep in mind that it’s only a half portion — the full serving is larger. The steaks are also excellent, cooked just right and full of flavor. The restaurant has a rugged, charming vibe with some cool, sporty decor and a small bar area for catching the game. The staff are warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. And with the lake right across the street, it’s the perfect spot to take in the scenery before or after your meal.

We had a great lunch at The Boondocks Eatery. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere indoors was relaxed and comfortable. They have a beautiful patio which we wished we could have dined on, but it was full. My husband and I enjoyed the lobster sandwich and grilled peach salad. Definitely a great place to dine! It was packed, and several people were arriving and trying to claim a parking spot even as we were leaving by 2:30 pm.

Used to love this place but the food quality has gone down hill. Dried out chicken, French fries looked like leftovers, and they tried to make their food tasty by adding in tons of sauce to a sandwich. Used to be our favourite place. Don't think we are going back for a while. Servers were great.

we love Boon docks. We come every summer, practically every weekend. The food and service are fantastic and the atmosphere is great. The reason I’m giving only four stars is because if you show up in your boat and park in transient parking, it’s $15 and I think this should be validated by the restaurant if you eat there. We typically spend $150-$200 each visit , but the $15 is a sore spot with us. We’re not sure we will be back because of this. Boon docks, do the right thing and validate the parking for boats in the transient spot if they eat at your restaurant!

Nice ambiance. The server who served us was really very good. Appreciate her hospitality but the one who greeted us wasn't pleasant. She even never smiled at us and said all the tables inside were reserved where as we were there for around 1.5 hrs and noticed that they were empty through all the time. This part was disappointing since it was hot outside and we had to choose outdoor for eating. We ordered Fish and chips where fish was a bit smelly. Chicken fingers were good and the burger was good too. We also ordered butter chicken which was a bit watery gravy. Just a feedback in case anyone likes thicker creamy gravy for butter chicken. Overall due to the location I liked it but certain things the owners or managers should take in account for better service.
