Honestly it was really good. Compared to when we went last year, I enjoyed the meat more this time around. We went on Valentines Day and it was pretty busy. The food was restocking rapidly so the food we were getting was very hot. I think that's better than coming on a slow day.

We enjoyed the tender chicken and the savory char siu pork. I liked the French Onion Soup. The vegetables were served uncooked and unseasoned, including the corn cob so I'd skip that next time. The salad bar comes first so they strategically fill your plate with greens first. The bean salad was good. The spring rolls and beer battered cod had a perfect crisp crunch. Husband enjoyed the rice.

I especially enjoyed the desserts. The best was their featured Smores Cannoli, it was gooey and hot and rich. They had jelly cups but they ran out before I could get them. The Nanaimo Bars and muffins were good. Watermelon was perfect, didn't try the grapes just cause grapes are always a gamble lol. They had cheesecakes which were running out fast, which they then replaced with red velvet cake. They also had Oreo cake cups.

The area was much cleaner than it was last year.

Drinks wise they have sodas, sweet teas, tea bags, coffees and juices. I enjoyed a passionfruit guava juice and a coke.

For the price of $29 it beats the River Rock Buffet that's $10 more. If you're a big eater then it's a good value.

We'll definitely come back!

ZERO STARS | Absolutely Appalling – An Embarrassment to Vancouver’s Food Scene and this casino

As a seasoned Google reviewer with countless dining experiences across Vancouver and beyond, I can confidently say I have never experienced anything as disgraceful as the Cascades Casino buffet. The food here is not just bad—it is shockingly inedible, bordering on offensive. If this is what they consider “cuisine,” then the chef not only deserves to be fired but should be permanently barred from working in any food establishment—except maybe a prison kitchen, and even that feels generous.

The quality of food is below one star. Tasteless, dry, overcooked, or just plain suspicious—it’s hard to tell what they were trying to serve. I wouldn’t feed this to a stray dog, let alone paying customers. The taste? Worse than prison food. That is not hyperbole—it’s fact.

Service? Mediocre at best. No greeting, no smiles, no thank you, no goodbye. It felt like a chore for staff just to acknowledge guests. Basic hospitality standards were completely missing.

Cleanliness was also an issue. Dirty counters, sticky floors, and plates that looked like they hadn’t been washed properly in weeks. For a casino buffet, this is unacceptable.

Frankly, they should be paying guests to eat here. It’s that bad. Do yourself a favour—don’t even consider this place. It is a complete embarrassment to Vancouver.

Stay far away. You’ve been warned.

This was hands down one of the worst buffet experiences I’ve ever had. The food was not only unappetizing but contaminated. Items from different trays were mixed together, making it clear that there was no proper food handling or hygiene being followed. To make it worse, the watermelon had clearly been bitten and placed back — completely unacceptable and revolting.

The salad was wilted, slimy, and turning orange at the bottom, clearly rotten and unfit to be served. It was stomach-turning. Nothing felt safe to eat. I walked out completely disgusted and will never return. Avoid this place at all costs.

Went there for the Saturday Roast Dinner buffet. Absolutely horrible roast. Wasted beef. There was no pink inside the meat at all. It was 100% cooked through, dry, and rock hard. Don’t be fooled by the poster outside. Very little food selection and all the proteins were over cooked. The pork was chewy and dry, more jerky like then roast.
The dessert table was always running out. Watermelon was the only fruit and almost always out.
They also have a staffing problem so the refilling of the buffet line was slow. Most tables were waiting to be cleaned when we were seated.
The only reason to even eat here is because of the BOGO coupon. Even then it might not be worth it.

Dinner Buffet pre Thanksgiving. Salad is good but limited choices.
Turkey is good, rest of the limited choices are so so, fish and chicken wings are little dry.
Desserts are of limited choices and taste not good.
But coffee is good.
$73 for 2 persons all included. It could be a fair choice.

I came here just to try the dinner buffet but I don't think it'll come back because the food quality isn't great. There were a lot more things i did not like compared to the things i kind of liked. I can’t recommend the dinner buffet at their full price of $30 per person. The food quality is not good enough to warrant such a price. Out of all the food I tried, the only thing i really liked the cheesecake at the dessert bar. The buffet is a decent choice for dinner if you happen to get your hands on a coupon like the $10 discount or the buy one get one free deal they give out from time to time.

As for the soups, the coconut curry soup was too watery and didn’t taste like anything. I couldn't finish it.

As for the salads, I took some coleslaw. It tasted alright. I only took it so my meal would be more balanced with veggies.

As for desserts, the cheesecake was very good. It wasn’t overly sweet which is good. I noticed it was taken very quickly from other customers at the buffet but it was replenished quick by staff.
The chocolate cake bar slices were too sweet. It was sickly sweet. It had caramel drizzle on top of double chocolate breading and icing. Didn’t like it.
I was disappointed that some dessert menu items were not at the buffet table. Under feature desserts, on the menu displayed at the front of the register, it says jello was included but there were none. There were no cookies either. I’m not sure why was it listed when it wasn’t included.

As for the mains, the pot roast with gravy didn’t have enough gravy. It was too dry for my liking. I couldn’t eat a lot of it because there was too much fat. The meat portions that I tasted was just OK.
the cheese mashed potatoes were very plain. they were bits of melted cheddar cheese with bits of potato skin inside. Worst part was that there was no gravy included. Who eats mashed potatoes without gravy?
I kinda liked the spring rolls. They were on the salty side but they still tasted alright.
The fish with garlic butter sauce was alright. The garlic butter sauce barely added any flavor though. It really needs to be seasoned for it taste very good.
The ravioli pasta was alright. It could use a little more sauce though. You really need to season it first for it to taste any good.
The rest of the food, such as the chicken wings and the veggie stir fry, didn’t interest me.

Drink selections were plentiful. The soda machine was a coca cola freestyle with many types of pop to choose from. My root beer soda tasted great. They also have coffee, hot chocolate, and juice. The apple juice and hot chocolate drinks were good quality.

The staff were friendly and fast. At opening time, there was a line at the register and the attendant was quick at taking payments to get the line moving. The servers were quick in taking any used plates at the table. When food was getting low at the buffet, the cooks were fast at replacing them. Tables were clean quickly by the staff after each use.

The place was only maybe 30-40% full at most during my visit. It was pretty quiet and you could get your food at the buffet table with barely any wait.

Dinner for four of us was $45. Had a 2 for 1 coupon, one kid ate for free the other was $13. So for $10 a head it was fine. Mediocre to average at best food on the buffet. The hot food was hot at least so that is a positive. 2.5 stars. A pass, but not by much.

The brunch buffet here is awful. Selection is very poor. Quality is disgusting.
Was quite good until they changed chefs. It appears as if they are trying to make it so unpopular that they can justify closing the buffet.
Matches has a nice brunch menu. Matches food is good. Price for 2 worked out to be less expensive than the buffet. The food at the buffet is now mostly inedible.
