Excellent meal!!!

Just moved here and was told you have to try the chicken shack. I went in and said "hey I'de like to place an order." I got a dirty look and an "oh...it won't be ready". I didn't know how to react so I said "OK thank you" and walked out. I don't know what just happened ? but an interesting experience to say the least. Thought maybe I had a spot.

I went there with my spouse and it was our first dining experience in Glacebay as we moved from Ontario. The ladies working there were too rude especially the one who was wearing red glasses. We ordered popcorn chicken there and it was beyond salty and no one was agreeing . We let taste with our friends too thought that it might us only thinking every one said same and they said that’s why the whole batter was. It was so salty that u can throw up after that. We did not taste it , we did not take it even with us and they still charge us. They were not even apologetic and empathetic . Pathetic customer service and awful experience . Worst taste ever, the worst part they were not agreeing and over powering us with their over confident language .
We will never recommend to anyone and worst experience !

Love this place. Portions are great! Onion rings: best around! Southwest potato skins: huge portion and extremely tasty! Not good if you’re on a diet! Lol pic below. hero sub: huge! Very tasty! A bit messy. Pic below! Fish taco wrap: best I ever had!! Pic below! Service was above and beyond. Good prices too!! Love this place and it is a must go to every time I come home to Glace Bay!!!!

Just ordered the hot chicken sandwich from the chicken shack in Glace Bay, it was the most disgusting meal I had ever gotten, ordered gravy on the fries, there was that much gravy that the fries were soggy, the sandwich was pieces of scrap chicken over it and full of grizzle was that salty that I couldn’t eat it. That’s my last order from there it was totally disgusting. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all the meal went into the green bin

Last time we will ever order from this place.

A few months ago we ordered delivery and was told it would be around 40 minutes. It ended up being close to 3 hours. Refused the food at the door, and called them to say why. Woman who answered was rude, and told us it was just made before it was sent out. Ignoring the fact that I called her numerous times already while waiting, and she told me the food was finished and waiting for the delivery driver. 2 hours prior to me calling this time.

We decided to give this place another shot, and ordered a 2-piece snack & the XL Pizza with 20 Wings combo. Got here in a decent time, but they forgot to send the wings. When we called them, the woman who answered was very rude, going as far as to call us liars, saying they were sure they sent it. After insisting that they did not send it, and that the bag they sent the 2-piece snack in wasnt even large enough to fit anything else in, they finally sent it. Additional 40 minute wait to get our full order.

I can understand if it's busy and a mistake was made, but calling your paying customers liars is unacceptable.

Was my first time at the Sydney River location and giving the staff 5 full stars. As a new business opening up, there's bound to be hurdles as far as timely service is concerned and had to wait for an extended period of time however, I'm giving props to the girls behind the counter. They were fantastic in running the operation and made sure everyone was served to the best of their abilities. The chicken beats anything served at any other locations by the way. Be patient and order ahead of time if you're in a rush. It's worth the wait.
