Great vibes!!! Love the routes they set. They change them often enough you always have something new to do. Indoor bike rack to store your bike while you climb. Also surprisingly good coffee.

I love this gym but I am frustrated with the lack of air conditioning and the fact it’s treated as a marketable aspect of the gym. It is the only thing that makes me dislike the gym. This gym is quite literally only good on cool days or in the winter, in the summer I barley come here because it’s unbearable and unfortunately the owners know this and decide to lean into it instead of give their customers any basic comfort

Awesome Facility to spend time with friends and family. Busy hours are from 4-8 throughout the week and Saturdays/ Sundays are usually pretty busy in the afternoon towards the evening. Throughout the week the gym opens early for a members climb so if you have time you can get there before work and pump out some quiet climbing hours. The gym is completely open concept giving you almost complete visuals of each wall from the front of the gym. Two large boulders I'm between two top rope structures give plenty of space for climbing with a large kids climbing section on the back of the left top rope structure. With the gym still being under construction, new activities are being added regularly. At the back of the gym just past the far boulder there is a silks area where silks classes are performed. On the other side of the boulder is a Hydraulic wall Kilter board and beyond that is a decent sized workout room with free weights and workout equipment available to use. At the front of the gym above the change room there is a semi hidden room upstairs. This room contains a Moon board and a newly finished Campus board for Training purposes. If your into climbing and want to get better, I suggest checking out the Guelph Grotto!

My son's 10th Birthday party was amazing at The Guelph Grotto. They had instructors help during the climbing session and a party room with all the supplies needed to have a great time. Thank you

I would like to preface this with that I think both the facility and the staff are amazing however during the summer months they have youth programs running most weekdays from 8-4. During this period the gym is pretty much fully unusable unless your inclined to compete with 20 ten-year-olds for a single climbing route. I understand the need and importance of the youth program but it is a pain to schedule around.

We went here with a group of 40 Grade 7s. They were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. It's really big inside with loads of opportunities to climb.

The kids had a great time.

I recently hosted my sons 5th birthday at the grotto. The experience was amazing. I went in a week early to ask some last minutes Q’s to the staff who were super friendly. On the day of the party, every single staff member was friendly, knowledgeable and ready to assist all the littles with their first climbing experience. Special shout out to James who was very patient with my niece who needed to try every climb with James assistance 🤣. All in all we were so impressed from end to end and now we have two future little climbers in our house.

Good vibes gym, amazing music selection (shoutout to whomever was playing Swimming Paul), and nice interesting setting on the routes. Was also cool to watch the aerial silks!
We got an orientation of the gym since it had been our first time at the grotto but I felt the employee gave us information of all the wrong stuff. For example, we were beginners just looking to boulder for 2hrs but he told us all about the Moon Board, Kilter, hangboard, etc. and didn't talk much about safety when climbing, only "if you think you're too close to another climber then you're probably too close." He also talked about the emergency exits like 3 times during the orientation but missed other rules. Then, during our climbing session, he repeatedly kept coming up to us telling us off (in a respectful way) about a bunch of rules we were breaking and saying "sorry I forgot to mention this earlier."
Cool gym and I'd like to return, I just think the orientation was not pertinent information to our skill level with climbing.
