On se sent comme si on allait souper chez un ami et qu’il nous offrait ses meilleures recettes. La bouffe est excellente, l’accueil est chaleureux, même notre chien a eu droit a une surprise. On y retournera c’est certain.

I can’t say enough positive things about The Hungry Beagle!

The owner, Mike and his daughter, Molly are truly two of the best people you will ever meet. Down to earth, genuine, great people. The service they provide is incredible, and the atmosphere they created is amazing.

The food is also delicious. The group of us ordered the fish & chips, and the buffalo max & cheese and we left no crumbs!

Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. It’s definitely worth going out of the way for!

The first time I was there, there was such a delicious smell of fish. Even if you think to choose anything else before, in the it will be a fish dish. Haddock Tips was the tasty dish that I tried. I tried fish and chips, but there was more regular good taste. The service is very friendly and comfortable, sometimes you can meet the owner. I saw how people made order to go, and some gues use call to order.
Next time, I want to try chowder.

Huge shout out to The Hungry Beagle.
This was our first time here and we showed up with 13 people. We all ordered a variety of things from mac and cheese to fish tacos to burgers to steak. And every single meal and appetizer was hot, fresh, amazing sized servings and absolutely delicious.

We were honestly shocked as normally when you have a larger group- it doesn't work out that way.

All of the staff was super nice and so accommodating. It was honestly just an amazing "down home" meal in every aspect.

Best little gem in Porters lake. Fantastic people! They have mastered a great steak. Don't have to go to Dartmouth now for one. It's a down to earth country restaurant. They care to make it a good experience and feedback is welcome to help with improvement.

I assume our server was also the owner - he certainly appeared to own the place! He was terrific, great recommendations, efficient, super pleasant, seemed like a great guy. We had crab cakes to start. My only complaint was that we didn't also have them as main course and dessert!!! SO GOOD, SO MUCH FLAVOUR!! Then we had the special, which was Swedish meatballs over Alfredo pasta, and some fancy salad with candied things and bacon and goat cheese....both excellent, both plentiful. Super happy with the experience and already planning our next excuse to get over that way asap!!!

Nice family restaurant. Delicious food! Great stuff and just a nice place to have a meal with family and friends and they are very great at helping you. If you have any dietary issues like allergies and food restrictions, they bent over backwards to help my sister-in-law when we were there.

We visited The Hungry Beagle as a large group of about 20 people to celebrate a birthday, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone in our group was well taken care of.

On a personal note, I was the only guest with dietary restrictions, needing a gluten-free meal. Although there weren’t specific gluten-free options listed on the menu, the owner personally came to speak with me. I was truly impressed by their knowledge and care—they fully understood my dietary needs, including the importance of avoiding cross-contamination.

I felt completely at ease and genuinely appreciated the extra effort. It made the evening that much more enjoyable. I’m so grateful for their kindness and attention to detail. The Hungry Beagle is a fantastic spot for both the food and the top-notch service—highly recommended!
